Should I get the car now?

I've been looking for a while and I think I've settled on getting the BRZ version. I've read the forum and it seems like there are a lot of issues with the car since it is a new model. Does the 2013 version have less issue than the 2012? Also, I really like the STI/TRD edition that comes out in 2014, should I actually wait for that?

The car never came out as 2012. Wait where did you see that there's going to be an STI/TRD version on 2014?

As stated above 2013 is the first model year for the BRZ/FRS. If I were you I would wait as they should resolve all of the aforementioned issues. I too will be jumping into a BRZ in 2014. I am a fan of the Limited edition.

Bottom line is that you should wait. The new information regarding the 2014 should be out any day and that will empower you with more information to make a comprehensive decision.

Cars only ever get better. If you can, do. If you can't, don't. The longer you wait the "better" it will get as far as availability, price, options, accessories, standard equipment, etc...

That may make sense in theory, but why wait for the 14MY, get the 15MY, better yet get the 16MY, even better yet...you get my point.

Also the earlier you get the car, the more time you have to enjoy it as a "new" car.

Thanks for all the replies, I thought it was released last year, I guess it was the 2013. I really can't decide because I currently have a very old integra and it really needs to be replaced soon. is there any info about when 2014 would be released?

brzadrian 03-03-2013 12:18 AM

The 2014's will not be out until at least mid-summer...so that's still 4.5-5 months away.

I am in the same postion. I am ready to place an order for a limited yet something tells me to hold tight for the '14 release.

Worse case scenario is to dive into the warranties like the bunch, worse yet trade it up for the updates if anything truly is resolved.

Though my gut says order now, enjoy, and worry about the small stuff down the road
