Yup, and levels out the torque dip at 4k. Would be interesting to see it on an independent dyno to see how it compares. Just thought i'd share the info, i'm just the messenger since i've had pretty strong brand loyalty with K&N over the years.

Nice. :)

Yeah I've always liked K&N but I can't really attest to their actual performances ..
I'm thinking just K&N Drop in will do for now till some real results come around |

FT-86 SpeedFactory had this one their site like a minute after I looked at this thread....lol anyway I really like this one, The open element is a lot more attractive and it seems to have some gains so hey, why not?

I've always been pretty happy with K&N stuff. Never had anything dyno'd but the "butt dyno" is always happy. Love the added intake noise they generate as well.

Given the shape of that dyno it looks like they didn't have the foot to the boards until a little after 3k rpm. I'm curious what it would look like below the torque dip if they had run the dyno from 2k rpm.
|
I notice on KN chart they never stopped at 7K RPM, which is where the peak hp is.
|
A k&n drop filter dyno near 5hp gain for 30 buck vs 6.6hp gain for ~300 buck; weird lol :)

Sounds right to me, plus Perrin hose and your set. Really see no point investing in a cold intake. Just buy the intake hose and the filter from whoever you like. |
