Trans/Motor Mount question
I am going to order my Whiteline Perrin Positive shift kit combo soon, my question is will i need tougher Engine mounts due to trans being stiffer? or can i just pop those in and be happy and not worry?
|
Great question.. I just bought the perrin shifter bushing and was.going to mate it to the white line kit for the killer shoft trifecta (already have pentosin fluid)..

I had both the transmission mounting and engine mounting placed in my car. There's just too much movement when shifting and running the engine hard... Then again, I'm running a turbo... but now that everything is stiffer - awesome shift! I guess it depends on what you're planning on doing with the car. I drive 3-4rpm normally but sometimes I crunch 7-8rpm from launch so I definitely needed the mounts, both trans and engine!

it would make sense that the engine mounts would take the abuse after you stiffen up the trans mount since now all the stress is going to transfer up there huh? perrin makes new motor mounts correct?:thanks: |
I believe Perrin does and I think that's what I have lol. Not sure. Just told them I want engine mounts, they make it happen.

I installed mine today
The perrin mounts do stiffen the entire driveline, shifts are more positive with regards to power delivery Getting the driver side oe out was tricky, clumsy hands I guess The upside is way more positive feedback and application of power during shifts the downside is more nvh, mainly at idle |
