Leather Option.

I heard that some people got leather as an option on their FRS but I was not offered anything like that nor does the scion website mention anything about this. Is the leather option just a leather seat cover that the dealer put on? For those who have it what is the brand (if their party) and quality of it? How much did it cost? I'm considering getting leather wraps as cloth may not withstand the test of time as well..

Some dealers have a 3rd party leather company that will reupholster your car. So its probably not official from Toyota.

Yea its a non factory non Toyota option. I think I paid about 2 grand for mine. I don't see it costing 500 lol that's pretty cheap. Realistically I'd say 1000 to 2200 is more practical. You have to remember it is a dealership and they want to turn a profit on everything. I'm sure you could buy the car and find a company to do it for you for much less. But I was impatient :-)

Hmm I may consdier getting an alcantra wrap in the future if I can keep it under 1000. I only need the front two seats covered unless it looks ridiculous. Does the one from the dealer have the red stitching like the stock seats have?

Far as leather goes..

Someone in another thread I saw got some OEM leather seat covers via toyota Japan I think for under $1000 (perhaps just the front seats not sure)

There are also some leather seat cover manufacturers.

Found it! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28813

3 cows would be like 3000, Leather, and enough beef for some years
