Does your FR-S shock the hell out of you when you get out?
Ok,
Why and how can i make it to where I don't get shocked by static electricity when i exit my FR-S... any ideas?! |
Simple.. Before you get out, grab a part of the exterior metal and keep your hand (or 1 or 2 fingers) on it as you get out. There will be no static charge.
I grab the A-pillar. |
That's known as an 86 kiss ;) . Stings good!
|
Yes! Right through a pair of insulated deerskin work gloves sometimes. This is static electric buildup; it is the only mechanism that would generate enough voltage to go through a deerskin glove. Perhaps it is a combination of the seat fabric and cushioning material. Also, maybe the liberal use of aluminum in the car body has something to do with it. I am hoping that it will go away as winter ends.

Good advice :) I shall def. grab that A-Pillar!
|
I get it every time I touch the window after getting out...due to tint I am sure.
|
My BRZ has never shocked me, ever. I wonder if it's due to the FR-S's cloth vs. my BRZ's alcantara/leather combo.
|
Yes. Often.
|
My tc does it all the time I have to remember to touch metal before I get out, The frs does not, (came with leather) I'm thinking its the cloth seats cause the static build up..
|
Every single time. Starting to really irratate me. Most of the time now, I just kick the door close.
|
I haven't gotten shocked, but I usually close the door with my elbow.

If you’ve still got a strong charge, as I often have, too, and you start to fill-up at the station, well… The charred cinders that was formerly “Boon” will be the lead story on the local nightly news. You might even make the national headlines. :D |
After getting out of my FR-S and coming inside, I've managed to:
Shock my dog who greets me with licks (sorry pup!) Shock my electric cigarette and kill the battery Shock the electric cigarette's charger and kill that... Shock my computer's dvd drive (freezing the PC unit making a hard reboot necessary) And so on and so forth...oh Winter, please end :scared0016: |
