god damn i hate dealerships. small rant
 

soooooo decided to turn in my car to get the pump replaced. the noise really gets to me :P

talked to my service guy yesterday. he said just turn my car in today, he'll hook me up with a rental. and ill get the car back the day after. sounds great.

go in to drop my car off, my guy ron isnt there. talked to someone else. get all the paperwork done and i go to the rental section and they turn me away cause im not 21 yet... i mean its understandable but the guy promised me a rental. i live alone. i work. im in the military.... GIVE ME A GOD DAMN RENTAL! took enough bitching for them to at least shuttle me back to base. apparently they dont normally shuttle people by that time (5:30pm) i didnt want to call someone to pick me up cause by that time traffics a bitch and i didnt want to put anyone through that.

i have my pulley and avo inlet pipe still installed in my car. i know stupid of me to leave them installed but the chirping was there before i ever switched any stock parts and i dont really want to go through with switching them back. if they call me tomorrow and say they cant replace the pump cause of my after market parts, i swear im going to go off on them.

a bunch of small stupid stuff but being in the military gave me a short fuse. i swear to god i was a much happier person before i joined.

Wait so, you're in the military & you're getting your car serviced, they wont let you get a rental to go places because you are under 21, and you have aftermarket parts installed because of the chirping and you will be ultraspectacular pissed if you find out tomorrow that they wont service it because of the after market parts ..?

The only fault I see here is the Service Advisor. He should have asked your age and/or scheduled you at a time that he would be there. Even if he was there he still wouldn't be able to give you a loaner but he would have had to take the "blame".

No rental car company will rent you a car if you are under 21.

You should know this by now:
You can vote
You can die/kill
You can smoke
You can make babies/mommies
You can go to the movies

But you can't drink or drive a rental.

Sucks how it works but that's the gubment.

Call the advisor and give him a rash of **** and mehbeh get a free oil change?

The rental place should wave the young driver issue for the dealership, I'm under their suggested rental age in Florida but every time I have to turn my car in over night I get a rental no problem...you should ask the dealer to support you with a courtesy vehicle or contact the rental agency simply for the fact that you need a vehicle! good luck

I ran into your exact problem myself when I totaled one of my Civics back in the early 90's. My parents lived overseas at the time and they wouldn't give me a rental because I was 18.

The solution was simple, they give you a LOANER from their lot, like a demo car. Not a rental.

I take it you don't have USAA? That's about the only loophole, and I think it still has to be through Hertz.

No courtesy car for dealership work? That's weird that they would use an outside car rental service for that. You would think doing that would just be more expensive.

They did the same shit to me! Go back there and demand they do a rental through enterprise. My car was in the shop for almost a week and they gave me a rental after 4 days of bitching. Theyre just trying to fuck you so that they dont have to pay enterprise.

mine was making the crickets after 600 miles then when 1400k hit i let my car rip but not redline after that it went away and never hear it anymore.. i use shell v power only .. i need to redline it and feel it:burnrubber: when the coast is clear :burnrubber:


yeah i hate dealers too.. i still have to get my alarm done and tint re worked.. i called about getting my alarm set up and called them and they said come down will get you set up and off in no time dont need an appointment.. when i got there they said i need appointment:mad0260: waste of time and gas..

i try and avoid going back there but i need my alarm done/tint re worked..after that im doing my own first oil change.. im not going to wait hour just for a change even if its free im not feeling that dealer..always on hold/transfer and never hardly call back..they off me 5 detail for free i told them no thanks but in my mind i was like :bs: dont touch my car:mad0260:

yup dealers are just about money not customer service.. i called customer relation and she gave me the same BS excuse as the finance lady did.. but but your going to get the best blah blah blah...STFU:slap:
