First time buyer - help!

I have already put down my $500 with a dealer in Bay Area to get my name in the waiting list. However, I have also been searching to see if any of the other dealers have any cars readily available. I found a few but all of them are 'base' models without the BeSpoke system or TRD Exhaust.

I am looking for Asphalt 6-MT with BeSpoke dash unit and TRD exhaust. If I buy a base model from a dealer, can the dealer install the Add-Ons I want? Or these are factory installed and cannot be installed at the dealer?

Another concern is even if the dealer agrees to install the parts will they do a good enough job as factory installation.

Any ideas, suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

the dealer will charge you and arm and a leg for those "options", i feel it's best to go with the base and buy all those options through the aftermarket at a much more reasonable price

I went to a dealership near my place today.
I asked them about the add-ons onto base models and they said they will be able to install it but it will cost more (obviously) and it will probably take a few days.

But if you are looking for a different color/transmission, you will have to order one.

Thanks for the response @eddieEndo @twkwnn

I think I just need to sit tight and wait for my car to be here.

Dealers would be absolutely overjoyed to install the add-ons for you. When I was searching for my FR-S (also in the Bay Area), I waited for 7 or 8 months trying to find one stock (although I did turn down two stock Firestorm ones). If I wanted to add on BeSpoke and exhaust, it would have been a much shorter wait.

Although I did end up adding on BeSpoke and leather seats, so I guess the dealer won in the end and I'm an idiot for waiting so long. Asphalt is such a great color though. :D

The BeSpoke and exhaust are both fairly easy for you to install yourself and save some $$$. I believe the radio has a MSRP of $850.00 and the exhaust around $1200.00. Many people are selling their BeSpoke in the forum for sale section for around $500.00. You can sell your base radio for $150.00-175.00. You can buy the TRD exhaust from some dealers for less than $1000.00 and also install it yourself. There is a Do It Yourself section on the forum that provides a step by step install process.

Good luck on your purchase.

I agree. This is probably the most economic way. The 2 jobs should be relatively easy. If you do a little bit of homework I would say you can have them done in one afternoon.~

Are you sure you want the bespoke system? I think the people who get them generally aren't super happy with them.

The stereo headunit is installed at the dealerships. The cars arrive with just a hole in the dash. You could also install the exhaust yourself, but I can't promise you that the dealership will cover it under warranty if you do it yourself.

The Bespoke is absolute garbage if you are at all interested in a user friendly interface and features dont waste your money or worse finance something that is barely worth 300$.

Seconding this. If it doesn't come with it, don't get it.

The default stereo system has bluetooth leashing, microphone and is perfectly capable of handling your music needs.

Save your money and find a nice 3rd party unit if you really want something over the stock unit - I don't have the BeSpoke but I've seen enough of them on other cars locally and none of the users were really impressed with it.

Enjoy your car once you get it though! :D

Thanks campy. If I replace the stock headunit with the stereo of my choice, that would void the warranty too, correct?
