Gauging recent OTD price on BRZ

Hey community I am in need of your advice and wisdom.

I'm planning to purchase a BRZ in March, I was wondering if anyone can point me to a reputable dealer and if possible your purchase price of your car. Please mention which trim you bought. I'm located in Montgomery County, but I don't mind buying from any adjacent states. I'm eyeing a premium but if I can get a limited below 29-30k OTD, that's very tempting.

p.s Is truecar.com or similar sites reliable?

Annapolis Subaru, Ed Rucker.

Mine was purchased in Massachusetts, but the folks over at Annapolis are great.

Agree, I got mine at Annapolis Subaru. Spoke to Frank White. Great experience. But you still gotta do your price research before you go in. Annapolis Subaru was the only dealer that would negotiate the price of the BRZ, Fitzmall sucked ***** in that dept.

Up here they're actually selling them for less than MSRP without haggling (and this is from a large reputable dealer I've bought two cars from).

So keep an eye out for deals and definitely don't pay over MSRP.

What they said. Massachusetts dealer was willing to work with me, but not all the way down to invoice.

Agree Fitzgerald/Fitzmall sucks. Notified me the day before orders opened that they were going to charge $2000 over MSRP, despite repeatedly telling me that they wouldn't.

I'm trying to buy somewhere close due to time constraint. I'm getting offers above 28- closer to 29 for limited :(. They've been "trying" to transfer one from a different dealer, so I'm guessing they won't really budge on price. They are willing to negotiate for premiums, but the included options for limited is very enticing for the price. So I'm stuck in limbo.

If the are trying to exchange from another dealer, then try that dealer.

I Got mine for 29K flat OTD(tax & tags Included) with Popular package 1b and stupid chrome gas cap sticker with 6 miles at delivery. I did have to do a bit of negotiating. I looked up prices for all BRZ LTDs ALL over the country. Then I emailed some dealers for some quotes. Then I countered them with the cheapest quote i got + the travel and shipping costs. I pretty much told them take it or leave it as i was already preparing to travel to get my BRZ. That worked. BTW when they Transfer a vehicle from one dealer to another, they usually drive the car over. I don't know how OCD you are about how someone does the Break-in period on your new car but I was VERY OCD about it and declined offers for about $200-300 less because those cars already had about 170 to 250 miles at delivery.

PS. I used Carwoo.com as a bargaining medium. happy hunting!

Wow 29k OTD?! I'll definitely jump on a limited! Ill try and use carwoo and see how it'll work out. I wonder if I can use your purchase price against Annapolis or other dealers around the area :D According to autotrader Annapolis has a limited white, but their own website doesn't show it :(. I'm planning to purchase by end of March or early April, hopefully I can find wr blue or pearl white.

This is awesome! Are they really selling it for $25k, including destination? If so, this is a lot better than signing up for the Subaru VIP program and having to wait 6 months (it's $400 more expensive, but you don't have to wait 6 months before buying).

Sure you can use my quote. BUT I did go for the least popular color - Silver Metallic. For me it worked out because that's what I wanted(its my lucky color). If you're trying to get the most popular colors(WRB, SWP, DGM) then you should expect to pay a bit more. And if you ask for a particular color and they get it for you, chances are they won't negotiate the price because they already know you are keen on this color. So if you want the best price for the car itself, be willing to compromise, that is if you think a Silver Metallic BRZ Ltd @ 29k OTD a compromise. I Love the color, i've always had a silver car since I first started driving but I obviously did not let the dealer know that. I first asked for a Dark Grey Metallic when they asked for my color preference, I then "settled" for the Silver Metallic :D

crazyprac 03-13-2013 09:39 PM

Well the lowest offer I'm getting for a limited WR Blue or Pearl White is 28,686 before tax/199 dealer fee. I was hoping to get it at 28000 or below :(. I tried bargaining with edmunds local price of 28,027 to no avail. Should I go for it or just get premium? Decisions decisions...
