Race It Up!
So we got hit with 7" of snow here in the midwest on Thursday @about 5am... This pretty much ended attempting a drive into work by 1pm...
The following day, after eveything settled and the main roads were plowed, I figured I'd give it a go! Well 15ft. from the road... Anyway when I first joined the forum, I saw a few postings in reference to tow hooks for our rides. I've always liked the look, but felt they gave off a racer look vice being installed for practicality. We used the factory points to Bobcat tow me out. I was a little concerned about "strap scraping" my bumper... SOLD! I'm sourcing hooks as you read this!:bonk: |
You know there's an emergency tow hook in the trunk right? Hard to decipher your story but I'm assuming you got your car stuck? If you don't want to have a race style tow hook permanently installed that one in the trunk should work for now.

Your thread title says "race it up" then you say snow and go to work, then you say you like hook but dont like hook, then you're buying a hook...
... w H a t..? |
Cliffs:
Snowed out of work for 1 day Next day drove to work after roads were plowed Before shifting into second gear ended up in a ditch Tow strap scratched bumper Looking for tow hook so tow strap won't scratch bumper next time in a ditch Might I suggest figuring out why you ended up in a ditch (stock tires?) rather than buying a tow hook in anticipation of the next time you end up in one |
Am I the only person that received a tow hook with my car?

Me too, guess you just have to be smarter than what you're working with.

At least he was politically correct. |
I have no idea what is going on in this thread... But go ahead and race it up, I guess?

I think OP said "race it up" to describe the addition of a part that either: A- makes the car look like a race car, or B- was thought to only be of use on a race track. In this case, a tow hook.
BTW the car should have come with one in the trunk for temporary use. If you're on stock tires, no derp you ended up in a ditch! Snow tires are the way to go. Just swap them out when the season changes, they make a HUGE difference. |
I'm surprised he has 293 posts.
