Without a serious front splitter--don't those things get real pushy?

I know a buddy of mine put a nice APR wing on his Lotus Exige Club Racer and the car was understeering like crazy, and put a APR front slipper on which gave the front end some more bite, and the car was pretty well balanced with both. On the aero side, I have a question for you fluid dynamic gurus... I see a lot of people running a rear diffuser they claim is functional (like this: http://thmotorsports.com/seibon/seib...i-1682038.aspx) , but is the underbody of the BRZ/FRS smooth enough for a rear diffuser to be functional? |
Remember downforce can be added with a decrease in drag or keeping drag the same, especially on a production car. This will not happen with rear wings however since inherently they are very inefficient.

At what speeds does that voltex 1S wing come into play?
