Palomares is my vote. I have wanted to drive that road. Then we can just take Tesla back to Stockton. Haha

I'm good with whatever we pick... but my suggestion:
We could start in CV, take Palomares down to Sunol. Stop at Sunol station for those who want some hi-octane/E85. Then take 84 up to Tesla and out to Patterson for those who have the time/headed that way anyways.

I like that plan! Been meaning to try some of that 94 oct for some time. Now, the trick is to juuuuust make it there with an almost empty tank, lol

I may crash my brother's install in Pleasanton. Talk them into stickier tires and LSD haha. Been driving his car and it's freakingly upsetting. I mean 22lbs is insane and on stock susp is freaking mad.

Official rendezvous time is at 7AM. We usually chit chat for a little, let people drink their coffee. Let's try to roll out and begin the drive at 7:30AM. That means if you're running late, text or post to let us know you're gonna be late. Or meet us at the next spot.

We will probably arrive at Sunol station around 8:00AM-8:15AM. Hang out there for a bit, let people fill up their tanks with the sweet nectar of the combustion gods. Latecomers can meet up with us there. Let's say chill there until 8:45AM. Then roll up to Livermore. Not sure where we should stop there, I'm not too familiar with the rest of the route. So if anyone wants to pick another regroup spot before the drive to Tesla and/or Patterson, chime in. Depending on the time then, I might split off at that point if I have to go to work, or I might still be up for a further drive with you guys.

The speed limit on Palomares? Pretty much nobody follows that. The popo are rarely out, and they do have their special hiding spots. I'd say there are four spots total, plus some light patrolling. They also have specific times they're usually out. 7:30am on a Saturday is probably not one of them. 10am maybe, because of joyriders clashing and crashing with bicyclists. Anyway, I'm tempted to come, but since I have to work from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, it makes the though of getting up two hours early a bit dreadful.

LOL I still remember the description from Pashnit.com a few years back when I first discovered the road. "The speed limit is a Draconian 25mph..." BTW in the video I posted above, in the first 2 min or so you see the moto cop pass by going the other way. :paddle:

I'm probably gonna have to head into work for most of the day after the drive, but I'm always a little more motivated to wake up early if there's a fun drive to look forward to.

Yup, I'm a Palomares person. Woe is me.

In the past few days, there have been a lot more cops than usual, but they're cruising, not parked, and I always slow down for oncoming traffic anyway so it hasn't been a problem.

Pashnit was a fun site before they went all walled garden on us.

hehe CV has a donut shop on the blvd (< 5min from Pete's) but not sure if it's open on Sats. Otherwise, Safeway has got to have cheaper bites.
