Ok cool, thanks for the feedback. I was looking for some good roads to check out with my buddy in Modesto that has a R1.

Yes but it's still a fun drive to cruise on with lots of nice areas to stop on between Groveland and Yosemite Valley. None of those highways are 'driving' roads anyway...just cruising around with squad roads..seeing sights and hangin out type of roads.

I'd take my FRS up there during Summer to cruise

^this. Still fun roads to drive none the less.

07jazzrs5gt86 04-25-2016 08:24 PM

Seems like a plan for east bay to meet sac 86 for a epic drive event

undefindedt 04-25-2016 08:35 PM

I am totally down to do a meet up there or drive around..it's a trek though for most of you...definetely have to leave early to get up there when sun breaks over the ridge

07jazzrs5gt86 04-25-2016 09:09 PM

Meet at 4am then drive out to sac 430am
Sounds familiar?

I'd say if you are already out that way, you ought to stop at Yosemite!
I took some of my favorite photos out there... would like to return again some day with some good lenses.

Dang, all this talk about Yosemite makes me want to go back.

If i were to make the effort to go all the way over there, I would try to venture further east towards mono lake and NV, lots of awesome roads there.

undefindedt 04-26-2016 04:10 PM

Mono Lake is awesome and I agree the views up there are awesome....some great driving up there.

Once you get that far up the amount of people around is considerably less.

I've wanted to do a 3 day weekend trip of going 120 up to 6 into Tonopah, then drop down 95 to Vegas...party in Vegas for night...head back up 95 into 190...stop at Death Valley National Park..then hop back on 395 back up to 120..then go home.

Clipdat 04-26-2016 04:23 PM

vegas is lame

That's exactly why I just want to party for the night then leave.

I hate Vegas actually also..
but unless there is a better place to stay with a hotel as I'd have FRS with me...then Vegas it'd be plus cheap hookers and blow

I don't camp at "campgrounds" so that's outta the question.
And I don't think my FRS would trek through BLM land or the NF too well:iono:

Ya, take out Vegas and I'm in! lol I even have family in N. Vegas and every time we visit them, everybody goes to the strip while my wife and I go the opposite direction: charleston peak, redrock, lake mead etc.

yeah, you see what happened when we said free pizza... nearly 40 people came out on a rainy night! :bellyroll:

Been a while since we've done the climb from the San Jose side over Mt. Ham to the Junction. I think someone who went over it recently reported the gravel wasn't too bad? Maybe not this weekend as 07jazz already has one planned but maybe we can do that soon...

undefindedt 04-26-2016 11:01 PM

Right? I only went for the pizza to be honest lol.......

I might run up there this Saturday morning to cruise....might trek up to Observatory for the view then come back down for a burger..I can report gravel condition and road conditions if I do

Yea lets do this

undefindedt 04-28-2016 03:18 AM

Anybody that wants to cruise Mines/Del Puerto this Saturday. Dan and I will so far

When : 8AM , 4/30
Where: meet up @ Chevron off Sperry(15051 Rogers Rd, Patterson, CA)
Leave at 8:30AM
Head up Del Puerto Canyon to The Junction, left onto Mines Road up to the Lick Observatory on top of Mount Hamilton...hangout for a bit...then cruise back down to The Junction for food and a beer. People/car watch then after that if others show up they can head whichever way they'd like. I will take Del Puerto back to I5

Clipdat 04-29-2016 02:55 PM

I'm no rally driver, but I've always kindof thought that a co-driver spouting off in my ear would be more harmful and distracting than helpful.

undefindedt 04-29-2016 03:10 PM

HAHA.

Well Drew without a navigator you'd crash pretty quickly OR not be competitive as you wouldnt be able to push the vehicle through the course

Clipdat 04-29-2016 03:20 PM

That sounds like a challenge to me...

Pwolf 04-29-2016 03:20 PM

I think Drew is just that badass... doesn't need no navigator.

Clipdat 04-29-2016 03:24 PM

You got that right. That's basically the reason I haven't taken my car out to the track at all. I'd be so much faster than everyone else and completely dominating the 86 cup. I'm actually doing everyone a favor by not competing.

Well, maybe not that extreme, but I'd definitely be faster than @PMok. That's for sure.

Her pacing seems ok, looks like she's just not having a very good day. She spaced out after that long straight (should have added a distance, like "150" for that straight section, which would have "linked" it to the next corner), then on top of that, the driver didn't pay attention to the notes (she said "5 Left minus sharp" and he didn't set-up properly and had to correct mid-corner), which then knocked her mic out.

But I digress... yes, your girl will lose her sh*t

Leaving now, be there around 8:10

undefindedt 04-30-2016 08:23 PM

We made it onto The Junction's FB page! Kind of..barely see us in the backround of a photo of a R8(believe this is one was one of them we saw on one the 86Drive earlier this year)

undefindedt 04-30-2016 10:05 PM

Couple crappy pics from today.

Lot's of fun hanging out with you Dan and Michelle(right? Sorry if im wrong)
Good fun cruising, too bad about my dumb TPMS but whatever
Now I really need tires, those rears are done:lol:

The Junction is open and awesome still! Menu is different, no Burnt Ends on it..guess recipe didn't come with the purchase:thumbdown:
Looks like they will be BBQing during Summer too though.
Liquor license is a plus but now gotta be careful people.
Too many cyclists today(Devil Mountain Riders run today) but besides that it was great!
We should do a drive there sooner then later and pack the lot with 86's:party0030:
