yeah there was one point where this chick stayed right in the middle of the lane and held us up a bit... fortunately she had a nice rear so I got to enjoy the view for a little while. ;)

OK the power of moviemaking magic, has made that drive more fun! Check out the SPEED RUN edition haha:

oh and I'd be up for another early morning run on Saturday. I think it may have to be an East Bay-centric drive to be close to home and relatively short.

Im coming from the valley, so East Bay-centric is perfect for me as well

East bay sounds good, not familiar with the area, maybe N. Livermore?

We have to be careful. I drove Mt Diablo for fun one day And didnt realize it was one lane for like 10 miles. Haha

Yeah, I think they call them "goat trails" when it gets so narrow that it looks like one lane but has two-way traffic. Mines Rd has some of that and you have to be careful, but usually it's wide enough and with good enough visibility that you can still have some fun and go at a good pace.

LOL that was exactly the music I wanted, but had to pick from the free stuff available on Youtube...

Another possible road we haven't been on together, one of my favorite short blasts since it's so close to me -- I took it down to Fremont the other morning:

Ran into some random turkeys at 3:45 haha. Sometimes you see the funniest things out there on a drive.

I'm down for an East Bay drive on Saturday. Been meaning to come out to one of these, hopefully this is the weekend. Will be a nice precursor to autox on Sunday.

Also hoping Vubaru comes since I need to see/hear that setup.. I miss my WRX as well, that great UEL rumble.

The East Bay would be fun, albeit a bit boring. N. Livermore/Highland/Collier Canyon is/are fun roads but not much in the way of scenery. No turnoffs for photo shoots or anything like that, unfortunately, and mostly flat.

Coo, never been that way before, I was gonna suggest doing a Patterson Pass-Tesla Rd. loop since Finch is coming from the valley. Either way is fine for me, since I'll be heading that way after anyway, lol

finch1750 03-13-2013 08:02 PM

Palomares is my vote. I have wanted to drive that road. Then we can just take Tesla back to Stockton. Haha

I'm good with whatever we pick... but my suggestion:
We could start in CV, take Palomares down to Sunol. Stop at Sunol station for those who want some hi-octane/E85. Then take 84 up to Tesla and out to Patterson for those who have the time/headed that way anyways.

BigFatFlip 03-13-2013 08:18 PM

I like that plan! Been meaning to try some of that 94 oct for some time. Now, the trick is to juuuuust make it there with an almost empty tank, lol

CV and no Redwood...ooh that's a nail biter. Not even to the range haha lol. I'll go with the flow. Time and place and put it in the books :)

CV Peet's Coffee on Redwood again? Dunno how early we want to do it ... 7AM? Too bad you have to be done early, we could go to the range after...

Hope no one minds, I might bring my MR2 instead of the BRZ... need to take the old girl out from time to time. :D

7 at Peets sounds good to me
