On May 25, we're driving Pacifica/Hwy 1 and Skyline. What time of day (start - finish)? (pick up to 2 choices)
  • Early (7:30AM - 10AM)
  • Mid-Day (10AM - 12:30PM)
  • Noon (12PM - 2:30PM)
  • Afternoon (2PM - 4:30PM)
  • Evening (5PM - 7:30PM)
  • Sunset (7:30PM - 10PM)

7:30am - Skyline/Hwy 1 is packed on weekends during day time.

+1. Strategically AM may be tuff, look at the traffic we saw this past Saturday. Then again, PCH is just a cruise so traffic may be good (attention). Skyline, hmm that place is a hit or miss and with very little passing lanes, radios is a must to help lookout for each other.

I can't say I'm in at this point, so I'll play it by ear and see what happens.

Same here. IMO highway 1/skyline is a better view in noon-afternoons. In the mornings, sometimes it gets too thick in fog/mist @ 1/skyline where you can't see more than 10-15 feet infront of you. It's a cruise not a race so traffic shouldn't be a concern. It's all about safety. Also, I'm sure there will be traffic in the morning (6-10am I believe) getting to the meet point and afternoons (past 1pm) because of San Francisco State University's graduation on that day. That's why I might not be able to make it cause I'm working @ setting up the graduation in the morning.

Since I've missed the last drive, I'm itching for one this weekend (plus it looks like I won't be able to make the next one :sigh:) I'm planning on doing a quick jaunt across an East Bay classic: Starting at Castro Valley Redwood Rd.+Pinehurst+Grizzly Peak+Fish Ranch Rd. and ending by Hwy 24 for easy free way access for the return trip home. Folks are more than welcome to join me (bring your radios if you do!). Some of you who have been to the Redwood Rd. drive will be familiar with the route. Here's the map:

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=p...a=1,2&t=m&z=12

Meeting area will be the same as last time:

Peet's Coffee
20439 Redwood Rd
Castro Valley, CA 94546

Meet @ 7 and leave by 7:30, route should take about an hour, so plenty of time to make it back for breakfast

I wish I could go :(. Gotta be in San Jose by 9am tho.

Haha I'm making halo halo at home now. Bought an ice shaver from Ranch 99 for 10 bucks and couple large jars of ingredients and ubi ice cream. We loving it lol

Hmm did you create this route just to entice me to come out tomorrow? A drive that ends at Highway 24 for easy access home? I'm in!
