Blah... I type up a long paragraph about the experience, but when I submit it could not be processed due to being logged out, I logged back an all my writing is gone.

I'm going to write a short one.

We could do better at keep the group together instead of having some being lost.
I suggest some contact list be created of certain key members and those that lead a drive be the ones to help out in case we get lost. I agreed with 86s I met earlier about having two strong leaders who knows the roads to lead split groups when a size become too big.

I apologies for the 5 86s for having a bad time driving when we were lost together. I hope I see you guys next drive meet and I hope it will be a better experience for you guys. I apologies for ditching the group I decided to quickly disappear to take matters on my own hands instead of wasting more of your time. I give my respect to the new driver and his girlfriend for taking the lead of the group to his best of his ability.

I admit not knowing the map well and I should have. I know its a circle....

Argggh I had a in-depth article about the experience but its gone..... I think that's all I got to say about it. I can't remember the rest of what I wrote nor do I want to try to remember and write again.

Can I get one extra STAR for getting lost and drive more??

It is fun and more exciting to get lost, sight seeing a little bit.

Perhaps next time we shall divide into 3-4 smaller groups with drivers have radios and know the trip, and wait a few times in some major stopping points to keep all together.

We got separated but had fun with the two other WRB cars. My son was a good navigator with the map. Great father/son experience. We ended up catching up to a couple of other lost souls and made it to the ranch. Do I get a prize or extra star for have 86 miles on the car when we left Peets in the morning.

Hey Guys, I wanted to introduce myself first. My name is Josh, and I drive a twin turbo 2010 Camaro, the TRON Camaro, if you've seen it driving around.

I'm organizing a road rally called Crescent Cup. We're going to be holding another event on October 12th, and wanted to invite everyone. We had a blast back in April, and can't wait to do it again. Here are some details on the rally.

Date: Saturday October 12th, 2013
Time: 8:00am check-in, roll out @ 930am
Location: TBA shortly

The format will be a scavenger hunt with a twist, and TSD (time, speed, and distance). There will be various checkpoints throughout the Bay Area. At each of the checkpoints, your team will have to complete different tasks to move on to the next checkpoint! You will have a chance to drive some of the best back roads in our area too! We encourage you to create teams of cars to compete as well. At the last event, we had Team Turbo Legacy, Team Flannel Racing, Team Gett’n It, and Team A-4C. Keeping with rally tradition, we will be keeping all of the checkpoints a task until the day of the rally! We will finish up the rally with an awesome awards ceremony in the North Bay. Some of the prizes will include best team spirit, and best Instagram photos. We will also be having a raffle, and some trophies as well! Food will be catered and we’ll have some drinks for you guys too!

Entry fee for the event will be $90 and will include:
- Entry for 1 vehicle and 2 people (driver and navigator)
- Decal kit for the car
- Official event rally t-shirts
- Rally Mix CD
- Goodie bags (various products from our sponsors)
- Official rally roadbook
- Entry into awards ceremony (catered food and drinks!)

Be sure to like our Facebook page for updates! http://www.Facebook.com/CrescentCup. We’ll also be holding prizes the next couple of months leading up to the event.

Registration for the event will be at Crescent Cup Rally Home » Crescent Cup Rally. Click on the 'Rally' tab to register. There’s also some photos of our past events in the ‘Photos’ section.

In addition to posting in this thread, feel free to email me at jmac@crescentcup.com with any questions you might have!

Can’t wait to see some awesome rides out at the starting line!

Thanks for the drive everyone. It was nice to meet you all, and I had a blast with our little group that got lost.

Only 2 pictures I took:

Well, my GF was upset we missed out on apple pie (and I am too a bit, lol). Wish we could have stayed with the group but we followed the map and I never had the stops listed on my version. 3 of us completed the drive (and passed Anthony as he was heading reverse, lol) Cool drive for sure but want to do it again for sure.

OK, roll call! Anybody still out there driving around lost? (ha ha)

Seriously though, it was too bad folks got separated, but hopefully everybody had a great day anyway. We'll just keep trying to get better about staying coordinated in the future and it's all good.

It's been a pleasure driving with you all this summer - what a great group!

yeah it was a fun day and I think unfortunate that due to the traffic and long route we got separated. I myself was not that familiar with the route and spent a fair amount of time staring at the map printout trying to figure out what the next turn would be. But it was still some great roads and great driving and I think we mostly got it sorted out. Big thanks to @Cjymiller though for setting up this route and picking the roads and stops - we always discover new gems by going out on these drives with others.

some basic points for these kinds of drives.

- radios help but don't always work especially in these canyons. bring them though if you have them, they are a good idea and beats rolling down windows and shouting (or heaven forbid, getting out of the car haha). yes we could share cell phone #s if we get lost or separated (I do have a good number of you guys' contact info but we should all share them).

- if the route is announced beforehand, study the route. Don't just assume you'll follow the guy in front of you -- he may not know the way either, or you may be separated by other traffic. We are travelling as a group but a good driver always knows where he is and where he's going. Know at least the major stop points or rally points (for instance, we knew we were supposed to stop at Gizdich Ranch for some pie -- make that your Navi destination). And then final stop back at the starting point, easy to find your way back there one way or another. :)

- glad to see everyone that I saw, kept a good sane pace and gave cyclists and other traffic lots of room. Keep it up, we want to keep our good track record.

Awesome, I know at one point in time the group talked about doing a TSD or a "poker" run. I've only done a couple myself, but it was tons of fun. Seems like we just ended up doing group drives instead.

Nice. I did a drive Pacific Highway 1 drive yesterday from Carmel to Hearst Castle. I'd recommend it to everyone to try out at least one time.

cheap. Lol. I got a mid cost one at Walmart. The ranges are never really true, but I figured the shortest ranges would suck to the point it wouldn't really work at all.
