Where are the aluminum driveshafts?

Seriously, there is one driveshaft for this car, an overpriced carbon fiber shaft. Is there a company making a light weight aluminum one? Has anyone posted that they are doing the R&D?

DSS has already started making parts for our platform Im sure a driveshaft is on their list.

http://shaftmasters.com/ [SFW]

They made me one a few years back for a sweet price.
It will probably take some leg work to figure out length/flange/spline but depends on how bad you want it.

I've got one of theirs on my mustang.

What is it, $1000 for the carbon shaft for our car? For my mustang I could get a carbon shaft that was around $850 and it was probably a third longer.

And im sure the market for mustangs is quite a bit deal larger as well.

Still 1k is not a bad price and if you want it that bad its the only option right now.

I agree the options are limited right now, and not just for CF driveshafts compared to mustangs. The size of the aftermarket parts selection for mustangs or miatas or any platform that has been around for a while is many times what is available for the FR-S. Mustangs have been around a few minutes more than the gt86. :)

I hope that this platform spreads to as many different cars as it looks like it's going to, then the size of the market shouldn't be a problem for long. I think that's why so many aftermarket companies got involved so quickly with our little car.
