full payment 2 days early
The subaru head office here in australia want full payment 2 days before the car is delivered and there is nothing in the sales contract about this.
Do they do this anywhere else in our world or do they just think australians are stupid?:hitcomputer: |

They obviously want their money before the car leaves them-pretty normal if you think about it. It might seem strange to the usual scenario of paying the Dealer, but in this case the Dealer is just part of the delivery process. I'm not defending them, but I can see their logic. If you buy something over the Net,you have to pay for it before it's delivered to you-and that's what Subaru Australia are doing. Probably not done anywhere else in the world so I doubt you'll have much joy there. Cheers Len |

I refused to make any payments over the web and paid the deposit directly to the dealer and then the dealer paid head office.Subaru head office is okay with this and i will make the final payment to the dealer. It would be good to see my car when the final payment is made. From previous experience i know that two days can become two weeks or more. Cheers Alan |
Guess it all depends on what form of payment you present.
If it is a personal check, they want to make sure it clears. If it is a bank draft, then you should d be good to go when it is presented. If it is a large bundle of cash, it will be two days before the police are done with you anyways, before you get the car. Credit card is a good way to pay, but they often balk at the fact that the CC company takes a bite. I asked if it was ok to pay 15k at the service counter for a new engine and transmission, and they said no problem, but would only let me put 2000 on the CC towards the car. |
