I recorded the cold start and will be uploading the video today

WatchmaN 02-21-2013 04:14 PM

I like the sound, but those tips are dangerously close to the bumper. No?

NoFear99 02-21-2013 04:19 PM

Too close, too high to the bumper and not looking good because of that.

Those tips need to be centered in the hole.

jflogerzi 02-21-2013 05:04 PM

Agreed. Also I would not run it like as you could melt part of your bumper. It has already happened to someone who did a muffler delete.

R2RO 02-22-2013 12:00 AM

Yes I noticed it was to close to the bumper, I had installed new hangers in it and they brought it to high up. I had them removed and installed the original ones. Everything looks way better now (:

R2RO 02-26-2013 12:20 AM

Here's the High & Low revving video, hope you enjoy.
PM for info on this exhaust, all tell you who's selling it rite now for a steal.

From the size of the gasket yes it seems like 60mm piping, it has 4.5 inch tips as well.

Also here are some photos of how the exhaust looks like mounted on a FR-S.

I like it. Any drone at highway speeds?

No not at all, it just resonates a lot around 2600-3600 rpm

No problem man, just here to help.

Correct me if I am wrong but the issue with bumpers melting is only when you direct exhaust flow upward into it. The tips themselves (as long as they dont touch the plastic won't melt anything.

If they are close enough, even if not touching they can melt. Also, remember that the exhaust moves around when driving. Having the tips too close to the bumper will make them touch the bumper on said movement.

Hey R2RO, Car looks NICE!:party0030::bow: I just purchased another FR-S (whiteout) and was interested in the Injen exhaust like yours. Let me know where I can get it for a steal?
thanks.

CamryDS 07-05-2013 05:10 PM

Great Exhaust, Sound is nice and deep! Only thing I was unhappy with was the height as well as the color of the exhaust. the blue is a bit played out.

But the undercarriage shot was beautiful!!! great work! Nice sound!

Yes, it does drone. I have had this exhaust for 4 month now and it does get better, but its a bitch at 2.5-3.5 rpm. That being said, it sounds nice I get compliments all the time. Plus, the angled canisters, pure sex! It would be perfect if it was a bit quieter in the cabin.

I felt no difference just sound upgrade. Like most cat-backs for this car it gives no noticeable gains.
.

Cockatoo 04-23-2014 11:53 AM

I was set on getting the Q300 but Im really liking this exhaust, but want to hear what the drone is actually like ... Does anyone that still has this exhaust think the drone is that bad?

Better yet, could anyone that has this take a DECENT video clip from the cabin? ( willing to give $10 )

BRZ_Cruzin 07-28-2014 08:30 PM

How do you guys get the tips to look so perfect!!! Please help we are trying to re adjust it soon but we cant get it to look right for some reasson.

Yeah I noticed when installed mine the tips are not perfect but close enough... Mine centered pretty good but the left tip sticks out farther than the right. But I think thats just the way they fit, because looking at the picstures at the top of this thread, they seem to do the same

JPxM0Dz 07-29-2014 10:36 AM

Fitment on mine was close to perfect. Nice centered tips and enough clearance or any contact with bumper. Loosen back end, push up and tighten down if your touching bumper. I do experience some drone, but it has quieted down after awhile. The great sound and awesome looks are well worth the tradeoff of having some drone ;)

sounds good, but the tips do look very close to the bumper. Also, the left tip seems to stick out more than the right but it might just be angle of the shot.

Nope... It's good

PandaSPUR 03-28-2015 06:02 PM

I'm gonna bump this rather than start a new thread.

I just got mine installed at a shop (I dont even have a driveway) after buying them used and they are insanely close to the diffuser. The guys at @PrimeMotoring tried to help me out but we couldnt get the damn tips to sit any lower.

Anyone here want to recommend some longer exhaust hangers? What length works best, do I need to replace all of the hangers or just the ones in the back by the tips, etc.
I believe these are the ones I need: http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Kart...st-Hanger-Long

Oh yea, this thing drones like crazy when decelerating between 3k-4k RPM. It is basically encouraging me to stay above 5K RPM when driving lol.
