I will likely be at all the CDC events with the exception of some of the Winchester ones, so look for me there. This is my second year running with them, bunch of great guys for sure.

To anyone who is even thinking about racing their car please do so, its so much fun, safe and you learn so much

I hope we get more people autocrossing with us. FYI Ive been to both CDC and WDCRSCCA events and I recommend CDC if all you want to do is have a good time and meet some cool people. If you want to compete compete this may not be the best venue

CDC is the perfect balance of competitiveness and fun, where you can go have a great time on the weekend. SCCA is too formal for my taste, but I want to give it a few more tries this year.

Yeap! Should be great fun

I did a mazda car club and a few BMWCCA autocross sessions last summer. Both were relaxed and fun atmosphere with plenty of non-BMW/Mazdas there. The Mazda course was a little tight so the miatas could have a good time, but my FR-S handled it ok. I'm looking to do some CDC ones this year. Thanks for posting the info. Hopefully by autocross season I'll have some new wheels with some high performance 235's on :party0030:

I run Mazda and can recommend them highly as well. CDC and Mazda are the two clubs who's events I prioritize over everyone else, and then I'll fill in with some others as well.

If anyone has autocross questions let me know, I am pretty active locally and can help with what to do and where to go if you're new and show up to an event not knowing anyone.

Trying to get back into autocrossing!! Expect to see me at a few events this year

thejevans 02-21-2013 05:01 PM

I won't be able to do Saturdays until June, but I will try to go to as many as possible after that.

I'm definitely going to try to get to a lot of these this year.

CDC and PCA are my favorite clubs to run with.

So I'm a complete noob at AutoX...how are the noobs treated? Any guidance provided before you go out there for the first time? Might get wifey involved too.

kanundrum 02-22-2013 11:29 AM

Noobs are treated awesomely. Advice is show up to autocrossing ready to learn! Also make sure everything is out of the car that will cause a noise or is loose before you show up. It makes taking all the crap out of your car that much easier. I would recommend buying your own open faced helmet as well since they are pretty cheap

A motorcycle helmet wont' do???..I've got two of those lying around...they are modular too.
