I think the only real benefit you'll get from these is increased thermal capacity, and the bling factor. Just new pads and rotors will be fine for most people, and the other people probably should step up to a big brake kit. These 4 pots are very popular on rally cars because you can fit 15" wheels around them.

Not sure if this applies to the brz, but on the wrx another common upgrade is to install a legacy caliper bracket and legacy rotors, which are 1" bigger diameter but use the same calipers (same swept area). These shift the bias to the rear even more and together with the 4 pot brakes and SS lines it's an awesome and cheap setup on the wrx. Might be able to do something similar for the BRZ if the parts fit.

Cast iron. They are pretty heavy. I haven't had my BRZ brakes off yet but I would guess they are heavier.

A bit after fact and sorry if it's been mentioned before. Having doen this upgrade recently I have weighed the stock and WRX calipers.

Stock: 6kg
WRX: 5.4kg

Hard to believe they're actually lighter than stock but they are...

Can anyone tell me how this setup feels and braking performance?

These look like a solid choice for those who want to retain low offset 17x9's.

I have 17x9 +35 RPF1's and just upgraded my rotors to DBA T3 3000's. I wouldn't mind a more solid pedal feel though and a bit of bling so I'll definitely look into these.

Are the Subaru lettering a sticker or painted on?

Paint iirc. And if you have the ability to file metal down or just don't care if they say "NISSAN" instead you can get the ones off a Z32 for much less (they are the same caliper, check the thread here on the forum)

Embossed on GC8, stickers on the newer ones. The rears are stickers on all models.

While they are "the same caliper," the mounting to the hub is different and they use different sized rotors. So you can't just bolt them up like the subaru branded part.

However, a company (kns brakes), does make a bracket to use them along with a larger 316x30mm legacy gt/ 15" wrx rotor.

I knew the adapted was needed with the Z32 calipers. Thought they were needed with the Subaru versions as well for some reason (been a while since this thread was bumped lol). Probably makes the price a little more in line with each other.

But with the Z32 version there is less bias change and more thermal capacity with the bigger rotors.

In the front, all subaru calipers bolt on to any other subaru. In the rear there are three different mounting setups so yeah to put the rear 2-pots on you do need an adapter.

I was thinking about the nissan + LGT rotor setup but it won't work with my winter wheels and I don't really need the bigger and heavier rotors.

Just bought a set of 06 WRX 4 pots off Ebay for $210 bucks.

Plan to refurbish and repaint them and found this link on another forum which I'll definitely follow and repeat the process.

Thread revival apologies, I was going to go with ATS brakes and decided to go with 06-07 Subaru 4pots. Currently on the Stoptech Sport Kit (lines, rotors and pads) amazing upgrade. Question is if I swap out the front calipers will I have to pick up WRX pads and anything else? Thanks
