I did this so that I could put an oil cooler behind it and still have an OEM look.

I tried multiple ways to cut this: hot knife, a dremel with zipbits or cutting wheels, an air saw, and an exacto knife. The exacto knife was by far the most precise and best way to cut it. The plastic is pretty soft and cuts fairly easily. Any of the other methods I used leave annoying burrs and aren't precise enough. The exacto knife takes a while. I think its took me 2-3 hours to do the whole thing, but I had to take lots of breaks to keep from getting frustrated. The results were worth it though.

Also, be careful not to cut yourself. I lost focus near the end and sliced myself pretty good.

I wish this is how they came from the factory.

I had the bumper off already, so I don't know if it can just be pulled off. I would think that would risk breaking tabs though. It's very simple to take out if you take the bumper off first.

Yes. It just pulls off from the front. Use a plastic trim tool to get under it so it does not scratch the paint.

Actually, if they did that, then they would see complaints coming from us people who lives in salty roads. Hence, why 99% of car manufacturers make them like these.

How bad you cut yourself? Love the home made band aide. Little paper towel and some tape, works every time

Just did mine. I had the bumper off to do a splitter install. The housings were not easy to get out, even with the bumper off. I don't think you could get enough grip to pull this out from the front. I had to push really hard from behind before it would pop out.

I used a Dermel tool with a cutting shaft. I roughed out the holes and then used a sharp Xacto knife for final trim.

I cut vertical rectangular holes in the wheel well liner to allow air coming into the housings to get to the backside of the wheels to hopefully give extra brake cooling.

Nice work guys. Was thinking of doing this as well.

That looks awesome, would you mind posting a picture of the entire front end of your car? I would like to see how it looks with the splitter and opened up vents.
