Ordered my ACT streetlight clutch kit! Anyone have this?
 

Comes with the street clutch and 10.5lb light weight flywheel.

ACT clutches are nice, but I think I'm eventually probably going to go with an upgraded exedy clutch if they ever come out with one. I've always had very good luck with them. If not, I'll probably go with a clutchmasters clutch.

The set you are getting will grab harder than our stock clutch, but should be very easy to drive.

What are your plans for the future? If you are going FI, I probably would think differently about going with that flywheel.

what does FI have to do with running a light flywheel?

depends on what your setup is. It can be great for the street (less rotational mass = quicker revs) as long as you don't mind driving a little more spirited from the launch (launches can be more challenging), but if you are planning on making a vehicle with the intent to have quicker launches and faster r/t in short sprints (which is what I'll be building mine for eventually), I prefer a heavier flywheel. They also feel completely different. Launchers are much harder with a lightweight flywheel because of how quickly the rpms accelerate.

Autox, HPDE, or just roll pulls would be quicker with a lightweight flywheel.

Like I said though, it's all about personal preference.

My 2002 WRX wagon with a sti swap running 450hp has a ACT prolight flywheel and stage 3 clutch.... so I think i'll be okay.

Right now mods are,

Perrin light weight crank pulley
Perrin silicone intake tube
Perrin drop in filter
Nameless overpipe/downpipe back exhaust
Getting custom tuned on the 26 with BRZedit at PRE racing.

Future this clutch will be seeing is nameless headers prob in december. FI wont be for a year or 2 if I even decide to go that route.

Does anyone have this yet though? I'm hoping it will feel similar to my 2011 sti's clutch. I hate driving the wagon then getting in the FRS and slamming my foot to the floor because it feels like if a prius had a clutch it would be our clutch....

On a side note Exedy clutches are excellent. I ran one in my 2011 STi and the wagon before it got the monster build. But ACT hasn't treated me wrong and the wagons clutch is holding up to loads of abuse....

I didn't notice any performance improvement when I installed my ACT sprung 6 puck and Prolite flywheel. The OEM clutch can handle more than enough power for simple NA mods. I think the $600 would probably be better spent elsewhere.

You didn't notice the effects of weight reduction in the flywheel? I'm considering getting this done and your testimonial isn't very flattering for all the work this is going to take. 10 pound reduction in rotating mass at the edges of the flywheel seem like it would make for a pretty stark contrast.

I didn't feel any difference in how fast the car felt. I did no scientific tests, and this is just a butt dyno though, so your results may vary.

you probably will not feel a power increase but you will notice the engine response is greater i.e engine will rev faster. you might drop a couple tenths in lower gears say 1-3 but it wont make much of any difference otherwise.

mine will be in friday and installed next week.

Yep. It is definitely the best value out there as far as clutch/flywheel combo. That is a great price too. I think I paid $600 shipped for my ACT clutch/flywheel.

Yep. They come with a Flywheel. :)

Damn. That's a good deal. I remember, I had an ACT clutch and a JB racing flywheel on my M3 and it cost about 1200.
