Washer Fluid Indicator

So my washer fluid ran out today and there was no light that came on to indicate the fluid was low.

Anyone else run into this annoyance or could there be something wrong with mine?

There is no indicator unfortunately.

I don't think I've ever seen a car with a washer fluid indicator light...

No indicator, lol.... Just check it like u check your other fluids.

Really? I don't think I've ever owned a car that DIDN'T have one (the little icon on the gauge cluster).

No such thing on a '98 Pontiac Grand Prix or '01 Olds Alero that I recall.

Don't have one in my FJ Cruiser. Mom doesn't have one on her MDX or Dad's Tacoma. Quit being spoiled and check your fluids the old fashioned way lol ;P

Strange, there is an indicator on all 3 of those cars here in Canada.

There's a good chance a lot of people have them and don't know it. If the fluid looks a little low and they keep it filled it's possible the fluid never got low enough for the indicator to come on.

this might be the most ridiculous complaint about a car ive ever heard. the fact that its been discussed more than once on the brz forum is crazy to me. maybe its just the fact that i live in socal. why not just keep a bottle in the trunk for when you run out?

There is an indicator, in black, in the reservoir to tell you what the normal washer fluid level should be at.

A little time under the hood goes a long way.

BRZfan 02-17-2013 07:59 PM

Really? What cars are you referring to?

Not only that, but one can also tell if it has de-icer in it by the blue (typically) color. How 'bout dat?
AMAZING the knowledge one gains when a little look under the hood (that big 'lid' that one opens up at the front of the car so one can see the engine) can bring.
