BRZ break-in, downtown Seattle indoor garage

Yesterday morning I found my driver window smashed in, the contents of the glovebox stolen (yay, my wheel lock is gone, but not my wheels), and a ton of screws removed at the top of the bumper and my headlight fixtures. Seeing as I had absolutely nothing in the car other than in my glovebox (literally not a stray penny or receipt), I can only assume they were purposely targetting my car for its headlights, but either got spooked or gave up.

This happened in my indoor (apparently) secure garage in downtown Seattle. Make sure you don't leave valuables inside (but that alone didn't stop this break-in)! I can't help but feel my car was targeted for no reason other than having these headlights.

This immediately came to mind :P http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/02/t...a-grow-lights/

Days before:

And how I found it :(

Notice how the bumper does not line up to the holes above it?

There's now a crap load of scratches, a dent in the A pillar that probably came from however they broke my window, and bits of glass everywhere. I'm waiting on the estimate, and have no idea how long it will take to get a new window from the dealership.

I pray no one else has experienced this, but please respond if you have!

Are you able to access the surveillance footage to the entrance of your parking lot? you should inquire with the management.

Oh wow I would see red if this crap happened to me. Sorry man, been there before. :/

Theres alot of haters out there.

I'm sorry to hear that friend. Its amazing how many scum bags there are out there. Which makes me want a garage that much more. Glad the didn't get away w/ anything besides what was in your glove box tho. Which makes me wonder why the manufacture didn't put a lock on the glove box in the first place...

If your wheel lock is gone, that is telling you that he might come back for your wheels. Switch them out as soon as possible to new locks. Sorry this have to happen to you, I know the pain. Get with management on a camera and hope they catch this son of a bitch.

Yeah, definitely getting the wheel lock lug nuts replaced, and it occurred to me the keyless entry key number is in that manual... time to get that replaced too! Yippee...

Wow man that sucks! was this in the garage of the building you live at or one of the public parking garages in downtown?

Hopefully there was some sort of surveillance camera in the garage that caught a look at the bastards.

Were they able to pull fingerprints off the hood area?

ctotheameron 04-04-2013 10:24 AM

Wow. I live in Seattle as well, and this recently happened to me.

They actually ended up denting the door pretty bad (can't see from this picture). I had to get body work done. Guh.

Remind me not to move to Seattle...

Wonderbar 04-04-2013 02:47 PM

Yeah, Seattle is garbage. It's getting as bad as Cali or the south as far as criminals and stupidity. I love the area but the hippies are letting it go to shit.

Sadly, I'm moving from here to NC. Way worse.

Chen 04-04-2013 03:24 PM

Tough love for the twins that direction.
