Owners Club name

I'd love to see the apparel idea come to fruition, but I feel like we should take the first step and establish a club name before anything gets printed.

For the past month or so, @ScionKid and I have been compiling potential names and I'd like to get everyone's feedback on them.

So yeah, vote for whichever you like best and feel free to suggest names you come up with, and I'll add them to the poll. :w00t:

You might want to be careful how you use the 86. Check your urban dictionary for its meaning.

Looked it up and have no problem with it. Hell I never heard of anyone use "86" in that way ever. If its a regional thing then I think we're safe from the slang term donned by urban dictionary.

Chose the last option since it sounds cleaner.

I like 86ONE and NE86OC as my second choice.

Loki2x 02-15-2013 12:05 AM

You're all wrong! The correct answer was 86CONE. I don't like the word "owners" in it. It bothers me about my other club, NASIOC, which is why i prefer NESIC. Especially since I am not an 86 owner yet.

M-17 02-15-2013 01:16 AM

Well if you put it that way then New England 86 Club (NE86C) is fine as well. Having "owner" as part of the name in the club doesn't bother me.

Loki2x 02-15-2013 09:05 AM

Yeah, but I think it works better when all the letters are together so you can just say them as a single word. For that reason, my 2nd choice would be 86ONE.

That's the exact reason I like "86ONE" too.

"861"...it's got a nice ring to it
:D

edit: And don't worry, 861 is not some random area code in Nebraska.

What about

HKNE

Hachi-Roku New England

red_comet 02-17-2013 11:49 PM

How about NEFTOC?

as in New England FT Owner's Club... it's a name you can say as a word without any of that mixed-symbol business.

;;EDIT:: didn't realize it was already an option.

IGNORE THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN (of shame)

That was one of the first names I thought up. It's listed in the poll.

Is 86 Owner's of New England (86ONE) are winner?

Or based off from the apparel thread it uses New England 86 Owner's Club (NE86OC) in the title. So hmmm.

Either one I can live with. The only thing that sounds off to me is the name from 86ONE can come off to others that there are only 86 owners in this group. No more no less. :bellyroll:

While I'm at it I'll throw out some other ideas I'm thinking of atm. But hey if they suck then disregard them. :D

Zx6 Owner's of New England (ZONE)

New England Zx6 Owner's (NEZO)

New England 86 Society (NE86S)

86's of New England (86NE)

FRZ of New England (FNE or FONE)

BRS of New England (BNE or BONE)

86CONE is the best. Everything else is WRONG!

:D

Though I usually think that shorter is better, I like 86CONE the best because of the autox-ish pun. Seriously, how could you not want CONE in the name of a club for a car that's well suited for autox?

My runner up is NE86C.

Deslock 03-17-2013 08:36 PM

Any news on this? BTW, 86CONE is actually a double autox pun since 86 = to kill or take out. It's the perfect club name for this car.
