Markham Subaru review

My rating: 7/10

My experience with Markham Subaru was so-so. My sales guy did a good job ensuring that no one else test drive my car. When I picked up the car it only had 10km on it. He was not a pushy sales guy, which i like. Seems honest. He was good with informing me with delivery dates and was easy to get a hold with. He honoured my request to not have the car washed or detailed, just peel off the wrapping.

However, my impression with Markham Subaru is that they are careless. I specifically called them to make sure that the rubber plugs in the glove box for the tie-down holes to be installed, but after i drove my car home it was not installed, still left in the glove box. On the day that I supposed to take delivery, i found out they installed the wrong mirror. I ordered the mirror with Homelink, but they didn't install that. Delivery was pushed back 4 more days cause they need to order the correct mirror. Also, tire pressure, i checked my tire cold, one tire was at 35psi, two are 40psi, another at 42psi. I mean sure, it's winter, they probably want to pump a little more than required, but at least make it all the same.

All-in-all, the buying experience was alright, but i don't know if i will take my car to there for servicing and maintenance.

Did they end up installing the plugs for you?

I didn't bother going back. I did it myself.

Top 3 I hear from TSC:

- C&C Motors (Been with them since 93).
- Willowdale Subaru.
- Budds Subaru.

Those are the top three imo.

I bought from Subaru of Mississauga. My salesman did everything I asked for (which was to not touch the car essentially) and kept me in the know despite not having any more knowledge than I did apparently. I've heard horror stories about the dealership going back a few years but limited visits have been positive I have to say. Still haven't decided though who will get my business when it comes to service.

Test drove the first one at DVN Toyota, definitely wouldn't recommend them.

Ended up driving a manual one at Weitzes, and bought from them. The process was easy with zero pressure, car was delivered earlier than promised as well. ~12km's on the car when picked up in perfect shape. Service has been easy as well, already done my second oil change and no issues at all.

Don Valley North Toyota review:

My rating: 4/10

I walked in one day wanted to see a FRS. No sales guy walked up to me when i was in there for around 10 mins, so I approached a sales guy walking around asking if i can test drive a FRS. He said he doesn't have the key, so asked me to wait and he'll get the guy who has the key. I waited at the same spot for about 5 mins, no one showed up, so i left. Horrible sales experience.

Richmond Hill Subaru review:

my rating: 5/10

It was late october last year. I walked in Richmond Hill subaru on a rainy saturday afternoon. A bunch of guys were chatting around a desk. I stood there and one guy came up to me and I asked do you guys have a BRZ that i can have a look? the guy said no they don't but if you leave us $1000 deposit they'll get me a BRZ and there were 20 people on the wait list. I thanked him and left. Wouldn't want to buy a car at a place where they ask me for money first before anything else.

Markville Toyota review:

My rating: 8.5/10

I went there on a Friday night less than 2 hours before closing. This sales guy came up to me and i said i wanted to see a FRS. He grabbed his jacket and took me outside. It was windy and cold. I was sitting in the FRS and he stood outside and explained to me all the features for a good 15 mins. The sales service is very good. Unfortunately i got turned off by the interior of the FRS otherwise i would have bought the car at Markville Toyota.

Got mine from Subaru of London. Awesome experience! Maybe one of the best I've ever had buying a car.

Budd's 10/10

Not a single complaint. Brock was a very cool and laid back salesman, not a stitch of sleaze. Justin (manager) spent more time talking about my turbocharged E30 than trying to push bullshit extras on me. He offered me a few things but there was no pitch, just hey we got this, it does that, costs this much... want? No, cool.

My Don Valley North Toyota Review:

Rating: 8/10

I walked in, and a sales guy came right up to me. Started talking and said I was looking at an FRS. We sat down, wrote up some numbers, then he went to get the key (off another sales guy) so we could go for a test drive. They only had 1 Auto at the time I bought. I didn't have to wait in line for the test drive. We finished, passed off the key to the next person waiting, and finished up the paperwork. Super helpful, very friendly, and accomodating. Didn't feel pressured to buy (although I went in knowing I wanted to buy).

My sales guy kept me informed (as much as he knew) throughout my waiting period. He had the answers to most of my questions.

My experience, I would definatly recommend my sales guy. Not going to say DVN, since others had bad experiences. I didn't.

Been to DVN for servicing twice now. Once for a diagnosis, then the second time for a warrenty repair. Didn't wait long. Car was taken right away and worked on. The car wasn't out of my sights for more than 60 seconds (enough to drive it into the bay). I like they have large windows into their bay so you can see what's going on.

Going Feb 19 for my 3month oil change. I don't suspect any issues, but we'll see.

DVN Toyota

0/1000. Don't even bother, they just want your cash and than treat you like ass.

Markham Subaru

Dealership - 7.5/10
My sales guy was nice and friendly as was the atmosphere of the dealership. My sales went smoothly but I had not been picky about anything at all. My dealer responded to emails promptly and kept me up to date with the delivery process back in April-July.

Service - 1/10
I took my BRZ to be serviced there twice. First time was to get replacement taillights from the condensation. At first, there were no problems but after a month or 2 I am starting to notice condensations in the tails again. Im not sure if this is the installation or the product itself and Im still observing them before I do anything about it.
The 2nd time a fuse blew and I was unaware (checked the wrong fuse). They spent 1-2 hours searching through my entire car, looked in my trunk found my toolbox opened it, told the service representative that they found LEDs in there and accused me of having them installed and causing a problem. They then also found my reverse lights had LEDs installed and refused to continue unless they were paid $105/Hour for labour because the LEDs have voided my warranty.
After they went and "put everything back" in my car which took longer than I expected I was charged 69.99.
