HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Air Intake Question
I am looking at purchasing the HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Intake kit for my new FRS. I would really like to get some opinions on this kit and I was also wondering if the air filters come in different colors. For the FRS the air filter comes in red, but for most cars the filter comes in yellow. Is it possible to get the air filter in say... blue? The reason I ask is because my entire engine bay is mainly going to consist of blue components. While I understand this is a bit meticulous, I would appreciate everyone look at this as a "to each their own" scenario. Thanks!

HKS offers a few different colors but they color-code them for different purposes and applications. Most of the common ones were green or red but I remember seeing some yellow and green. No blue that I remember.
When I lived in Japan, I used to see them all the time on Yahoo Auctions (yahoo.co.jp). I'm sorry that while I can speak Japanese well enough, I don't read it very well (more like at all) so I won't be much more help beyond that. I'm sure there is someone around here that can offer more insight. Scott |
Just red is all the kit comes with. :( Might be able to snag a blue replacement HKS outside the kit.

Does anyone have DYNO gains from this intake? I haven't seen anything on this intake. It looks like it would add some nice power but who knows.

I'm not sure if anyone on this forum has it. I'm also interested in it. I had the HKS intake for my S2000. It sounded awesome and some dynos from s2k members showed great gains (7-9hp)

They weren't nearly as noisy as some of the others but the flow rate for forced induction cars made them a favorite over there. The only problem I ever had with them was that the filters act like a world-class sponge! I used to keep a couple spare filters in the car for the random rain storm that was frequent in southern Japan. Not a big deal. I would just wring out the wet one, and put a dry one in its place while I waited for the wet one to dry out to put in to my spares collection. Scott |

Found this on the HKS site. Looks like the gains are low.

just by the design alone you can tell that intake is not going to net gains. i'd stay away if i were you, look into the AEM.

"You don't need sound creator. The direct sound from the engine is good enough."
