FR-S Bespoke Contact List Transfer Problem
Hey folks -
I've seen similar threads here, but really not very close to my problem, and I don't want to hijack another discussion. I have an FR-S with a Bespoke head unit, and all I really want to do with it is connect a simple cell phone. I've tried four phones now, all of which work fine as far as talking, calling out or receiving calls. However, only one of these phones will transfer its contact list to the head unit so that it's easy to call by tapping the Bespoke display. That phone is an old(!) Samsung flip-phone unique to Verizon, which works super simply and almost automatically, but we're trying to dump Verizon, going to a cheaper and more appropriate Pay As You Go T-Mobile plan. Our Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G (SGH-T679) displays error messages which indicate that it's talking to the head unit when I've tried all the various methods for transferring contacts, but it always ends up with a failed transfer message displayed on the Bespoke, and no contact list. I tried the closest thing I could find to our old flip-phone, a new Samsung T139, which doesn't even seem to recognize an attempt to download (or upload?) its contact list, winding up with a screen that's endlessly hung until I press return or another function. Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, have you found a way to solve it? Has there been a firmware upgrade to the Bespoke HU? Can anyone recommend an inexpensive T-Mobile compatible cellphone that provides full phone functionality with the Bespoke HU? I don't give a BLEEP! about the web, GPS or entertainment gewgaws, and I (absolutely, definitely, unequivocally!) don't want an iPhone of any vintage. Thanks! |
Its either the phones or somthing youre doing wrong, Ive had numerous different phones connected to mine and the phone books worked fine on all of them.

Anyone Else Having (Had) Contacts List Problem?
Hey again -
In forum searches I've seen at least two posts of similar issues - one where the contacts function was "grayed out", and one that somehow (magically?) cured itself. About 75 users have viewed this thread so far now, without much in the way of a useful reply. Has anybody else seen this same or a similar quirk, or (hopefully, preferably) had this kind of problem and found a fix for it? Can anyone recommend a low-cost T-Mobile compatible phone that does work well with the Be-Damned - I mean Bespoke audio system? If so, that would seem to be a simpler solution than working out the interface (and possible new quirks) of a replacement HU. I'll also try to get more info or assistance from the Android forums... |
My galaxy s2 only connects some of the time and when it does, it works once only for a short time period. This is regardless of the fact it always says transfer complete.

Evening Mister Wayne!
I can try of being of some assistance as I helped many of our customers where I work connect their phones to the BeSpoke. I usually find when the option is "grayed out" it is the system enabling a safety feature that disables the user from accessing the device when vehicle is in motion. This is also with Toyota' Entune. However, your BeSpoke unit might be defective, yet again I am of no much help without having the unit in front of me. Also, try checking the BeSpoke to phone compatibility (might not be helpful but worth a shot). I apologize for your frustration, and apologize for not being of much assistance. |
With my Samsun Galaxy Note II , as soon as I setup the first initial bluetooth connection it ask if I would like to transfer the phonebook. Other than that there shouldn't be a trick. Possibly the headunit it not working right. Maybe you can go to Toyota and see if you can sync with a car on the lot.
