If no-one bought the 86 it would have been a commercial failure thus crushing any hopes of a new supra. Everyone who has bought the car has helped make it a success.

I will be one of those first Supra owners. And I'll likely be selling my 86 for it.

As a former owner of two separate MKIV's, I have a certain loyalty to the Supra badge.

However I think no matter what I'm going to be holding on to my 86 for a long time. Even if I buy a new Supra, It'll be a weekender with the 86 remaining my Daily driver.

Wish I could afford that supra...

I've been battling the idea of buying a MKIV for a long time, but then the FR-S came out and a very good opportunity to boost the crap out of it.

Let's just hope that it keeps the Toyota badge.

Lexus wouldn't be too bad, it would cost more, but for those of you in the states, could you imagine the new Supra wearing a Scion badge?

I sold my MKIV because the law enforcement in my state had become militant in dealing with modifications.

I'd pumped about 25k worth of mods into the car, some of which were legal but most of which became illegal under new rules introduced concerning aftermarket turbochargers.

So I had to sell her. I was tempted to get another, but boost is a double edged sword. One on hand it's awesome for speed, but on the other the gains you can get are just way too easy. I didn't want to be tempted to turn 200rwkw's into 400rwkws.

Part of the reason why I love my 86. No temptation to mod any more than an intake, pulley, exhaust and a tune. Cos aside from that there ain't a whole lot you can do, besides rebuilding the engine.
