APA Pricing plus Grad discount on FR-S
Hey guys, I'm relatively new to this forum, but never had a reason to post anything since everything was being posted already.
Anyway, I just put my order in on Saturday for a manual FR-S and got a better price than the APA quote. For those who don't know what APA is, it is the Automotive Protective Association. http://www.apa.ca/buying.asp . They pre-negotiate prices with certain dealers in Ontario so that you don't have to. I paid $80 for membership and the FR-S quote came out to be $390 less than MSRP. Considering this is a car they don't budge the price on, $390 off is pretty good. I recently graduated too so I was able to get the $1000 grad rebate on top of the reduced price. In total, the car came out to be $30,736.45 (including tax), which was less than that APA quote. So if there are any recent graduates out there looking for an FR-S, check them out and get an APA quote to present to them. I'm not an APA rep. I'm just trying to save you some money to make more sweet mods on this beast! |

I suppose it does seem convenient that that was my first post.
I posted the link so you can check it out yourself and call them, they can verify the details I've given. I already got my savings from them, I'm just spreading the knowledge :) ps. I'm a software engineer (not at APA lol), and even if I was a rep it doesn't change the criteria of the pre-negotiated price. |

aiyaaa...I don't really have anything to prove so I'll stop convincing you... although it sucks how genuine help is received here =\
But if there are any Ontarioans out there that want to know more, just let me know. This quote document I got says that the Invoice price for this car is: Base Price Manual Invoice: $24,513 MSRP: $25,990 Base Price Automatic Invoice: $25,622 MSRP: $27,170 You can try to use this to your advantage when negotiating. Also, APA is for Canadians unlike the ones who have been replying to this thread thus far. |
personally i think those programs are bogus, find the right dealer and save yourself the membership

27.8k minus $500 for college grad here, MT. |
$30,736.45 was just the APA quote discount (including tax and fees)
I ended up having to pay $29,736.45 OTD which is APA quote minus $1000 off for grad rebate. If I had gotten it at MSRP it would have been $31,210.60 minus the grad rebate which is $30,210.60 Total savings of $474.15 minus my ~$80 membership fee is ~$400 in savings. This is the first car I ever bought so I don't know how well I would have handled a negotiation without these quotes to give me the confidence to say that that's what I want. I told him that if he is uncomfortable to give it to me for that extra ~$500 off, then there is no pressure, I can just go to the actual dealership that agree to this price (I actually went to a non APA member dealership that was closest to me for convenience). I guess this would be more appealing if other people from Ontario to comment and compare what they paid since everyone else seems to get better prices that us by default. :( |
