I also. I really like the SL600 (R230) more than anything. This new SL (R231) just doesn't look good in either way.

Interior looks alright. The rest is pretty gaudy.

I agree. I like the interior a bit. I'm sorry but that thing is so ostentatious it makes me want to throw up.

I love it. It reminds me of the big grill vintage Benzes. This is certainly a car to be seen in. In a perfect world, I'd daily drive an SL63.

I think that SL still looks good!

However, I'm still on the fence about owning any German made cars. My father has an '08 MB500 and that thing has spent most of it's time at the dealership.

the modern German car is expensive and not built to be maintained (Porsche and other exotic models accepted). they're built to last within the warranty period then crap out on you like a lot of computers after five-seven years; too many computerized functions to last let alone be reasonable to repair should something fail. if you lease, great because whatever happens to the car isn't really your problem, or at least for long should something go wrong. you'll never see me in one, bar a Porsche.

All of the problems I've heard/seen were electrical; stuck moon roof, windows not working, and random lights going out.

My pop's MB only has 25K and already went through 4 brand new batteries. I'm just replaced the battery on my Tacoma and I have 150k miles.

the batteries are ridiculously expensive for Audi's, Bimmers and MB's, because they're made exclusively by the companies themselves. if you want to use a generic car battery the ECU has to be reprogrammed to accept it. too high maintenance for me.
