For those of you that really want that car, I saw this on Instagram and thought I'd share,

Saber will really like that. He might pay an absurd price for it also.

Not worth it. I'll stick to my stock 6MT then add 18"wheels, springs, exhaust and intake with either MV Design or 5Axis kit. Much better than the TRD version for less.

Can't see them selling 250 in the UK, and it is poor value.

Good opportunity for Subaru to produce a run of sti cars which are focused on performance driving, rather than looking good.

Doesn't seem any different from TRD Japan parts. Probably not much cheaper than just buying the base car then installing TRD parts yourself.

BMW will gladly sell you an 'M-package' with pretty much any model. I don't see how this is different. :bellyroll:

Fair point

Although that also comes with rock hard suspension as part of the bargain

Getting really tired of this. Can the United States get SOMETHING? I wanted the GT86 and I can't have it (without dumping money into a conversion). Can we have the release series FRS yet :sigh:, cause that's the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on this car yet.

The difference is that it's just an optional package with some M goodies, not a limited edition specially focused M model.

I can agree with you on that.

I'm still waiting myself for a Release Series of the FR-S but the wait is getting unbearable.

I keep finding myself drifting towards a WRB BRZ every so often. but my better judgement says "wait for the RS 1.0 FR-S"

I posted this on the Toyota Blog but they havent approved it as it proves how much of a rip off the TRD GT86 is. So on top of being a rip off it goes to show that Toyota havent even got the balls to let there be freedom of speech on their blogs. So here is my post in all its glory now from one very peed off ex Toyota Owner.

Quote:

This is not the TRD Version that we were expecting and at around £6500 more than the standard version it should have the FULL TRD Parts list. For this kind of money you are better off buying a normal GT86 and then purchasing all the TRD parts seperately off the internet from Japan (£3050.37 + Delivery + Fitting). Now i dont expect Toyota to include the TRD Big Brembo brake kit at this price (The standard brakes are awesome). But i do believe at this price the rest of the TRD Catalog for this car should be included. TRD Spoiler, TRD Air Filter, TRD Push Start Button, TRD Oil Cap, TRD Oil Filter, TRD Front Pads, TRD Rear Pads, TRD Front Strut Brace, TRD Member Brace, TRD Door Stablizers, TRD Brake Hoses, TRD Shocks/Springs & the TRD Roll Bars. This little lot is £3679.84 + Delivery + Fitting. So combine the two and then you roughly see the extra £6500 that you are asking for. Seeing as these are the retail part prices i would expect you not to have any problems including this all within the £31995.00 price tag. With this kind of spec i would buy one in a heartbeat, but with the spec being offered its a rip off.
I hope that this information is useful to people who are considering the TRD GT86.

Dont get me wrong, i want to see Toyota and the GT86 do well. But the fact that they BLOCKED my post on their blog has really got my back up now.

I do like that someone is bringing some over, however it still doesn't help me. A) I'm in Canada. B) Plates/Registration C) Those 5 would probably go for more than I could afford. D) I've already moved on, I'm in a '09 Cobalt SS Turbo now. It's not RWD but it kicks ass as the fastest FWD car around the nurburgring, edging out the WRX STi even. Chevy said "Let the best car win." and Toyota was a no show....

I was about to click "thanks" until I read the release series part... although I suppose if it had everything the Toyota version has on the GT Limited, fine. I'd take the stupid thing, torch the Scion badges (including airbag, should blow up nice) then replace with Toyota. :(

But yeah, real tired of Toyota's shit.

That's what I'm hoping for. Else I'm grabbing a BRZ

Ugh...body colored kit + pearl white = severely mismatched paint ><

Endless Mike 02-11-2013 05:30 PM

Those side skirts look awful. They look like something Hyundai would add with that extra line that goes nowhere.
