Nah. If it said in North America, instead of the UK, THAT would have achieved a better reception.

I agree that the quad pipes looks overkill....
If a regular joe goes up behind that car and notice that ass, he'll think it's a monster engine in it. And on green light he'll just pass by in his random diesel saloon :D

True. haha!

At least Toyota didn't try and make it look like a baby LFA!

That kind of false representation is just like when women wear those body-altering undergarments... They look great in the club and then when they take their clothes off....

DROOP! THERE IT IS!:eyebulge:

I'm sorry but as much as I love the looks of the thing, I have to waive the "big deal" flag.

It is cheaper to buy a base model and pimp it with better looking wheels, tires, and bits that actually contribute to performance than buy that car. TRD should have waited until they could make a special edition supercharged or turbo car before putting this out.

I think there would have been a LOT of people that would have just lined up saying "TAKE MY MONEY!!" for a TRD 86 that actually performed better than a base model.

Still... it really IS pretty!

Scott

I was planning on making my own...pretty much debadging and adding the kit and exhaust...its like 3 or 4k cheaper

once again scion/usa get shits

Meh im fine with that not coming to the states, the car in the us is just fine as it is. Im not a fan that it came to the states as a Scion but hey slapping some Toyota badges on the car fixes that problem to an extent. That is trying to hard in the looks department in my opinion and is way to tacky. I would not want to drive around in that car. That would be like driving the frs that looks like a LFA (facepalm) im sure it appeals to some but keep the acessories under the hood where its needed.

Feel sorry for the UK guys actually.

They are getting shafted as well.

Here in NZ the TRD spec comes with the massive callipers and in any colour you want.

Yah id say that car is a total rip off. i dont know about turbo or SC model i mean this car is spose to be the revival of the AE86 and that car was known not to be fast and stuff.

if anything they should have given the car nicer wheels. better brakes, maybe a factory ECU tune for more base power and torque gave it better springs and sway bars , then add a trd duck bill and possibly a front and rear diffuser. maybe even a nice exhaust and a trd air filter or something.

to me i find it useless to make gobs of power out of this car its soo light and handles so good. why ruin that? like im sure if you had 300+ wheel in this car going through a tight corner you couldnt lay into the throttle and keep traction. with the limited torque we get you can matt the pedal through an entire corner and exit with great momentum. Id say if the car had another 40-50 horse power and another 30-50 torque it would be perfect.

but thats just me.

But, I really like how the front license plate is mounted/pictured here. Personally, I would prefer something like this than mounting it on the tow hook or on the grill. Does anybody know where one can be acquired / what it's called?

Its part of the lip kit...
Heres a replica but you get the idea...

I think they have something like that on Amazon. Search for "Bell Automotive license mount". The reviews say this particular one is prone to rust tho. I'm not a big fan of the off-centered license tow hook mount either.
