Blizzard

I'll be keeping the BRZ off the roads during the storm, but once everything's settled, I plan to find an empty lot somewhere to really get a feel for the car's handling characteristics in the snow and on my winter tires. This will be the first real significant snowfall that my BRZ will be in.

Stay safe out there, folks - whether on the road, or not. This one looks to be a doozie.

i am ready! finally time to put the winter tires to the real test.

but in all seriousness, stay safe everyone

Never did get the winter tires but i got 180 pounds of sand in my trunk just in case...

I unfortunately had to come into work, but from what weather.com says, we aren't suppose to get a significant amount of snow during the day. My job will probably close early so hopefully I get home in time before the real deal comes.

I just had my winters put on yesterday. Blizzak WS-70s. I mentioned it in another thread, but i'm guessing since they aren't a winter performance tire, they sure do make the handling characteristics of this car go right down the pooper. I feel like i'm driving on a cloud, haha. It freaked me out at first because I thought I was sliding, but it was just the car rebounding back and forth.

Yeah those WS70's are soft to give them an aggressive bite in snow and ice. Makes the car squirrely on dry pavement though! I've got the performance version of that, the LM60's. Not as good in snow/ice, but maintains dry like an All-season.

Gah! My BRZ wasn't supposed to be my winter car, but my son wrecked my GMC 4x4 so now I've got no choice. Ah well, it'll force me to drive extra careful anyway.

I actually had ws-60's on my STi previously... but went with the 70's because they were a little cheaper and I figured I could use the extra "aggressiveness" in the snow haha.

South Jersey won't get as much snow as you guys up north =\ so stay safe and have fun in the snow.
