On January 9 at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, Lexus will show off a new concept designed by Lexus' Newport Beach design center, Calty that "showcases the new design direction embraced by Lexus." And with that bit of information you know exactly as much about this new concept vehicle as we do.

IS seems all wrong. GS is freshly designed. ES is a worse guess than IS but better than GX, RX, LX or LS.
So we're either looking at an FR-S/BRZ in Lexus clothes or a 2014 Lexus SC that might actually capitalize on the Sport Coupe name.

What say you?

hope the new design language is nice cause it will prob influence the mid cycle refresh of the 86

I think it's 3rd gen IS concept or maybe ES because they need a new ES to along go with Camry.

The design in the pic does spark my curiosity. Will see.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same platform as the AS1, maybe modified, maybe not, really can't tell much from the little picture.

Yes, it's crying because it's going to fast without any eye protection.

Edmund's Insideline Straighline blog seems to think this will either be an SC replacement or a derivative of the AS1 platform

Hopefully, it's affordable(40K) for a SC and weighted less than 3000lb.

i doubt it. the SC's target demographic is older and heavy. but hey, anything can happen!!! :happy0180:

I hope its a new SC; that could mean new Supra :D
