I want to say that i read this was part of the PDI.. they are supposed to disconnect this and hide it.. iirc, there is something that is connected during shipping that get's disconnected for normal operation. Could have sworn it was the drivers side though.

The shift interlock related connector is what you are referring ti I believe. Apparently it's in automatics only.

hmm mine's a m/t so i guess thats not it. hmm so what is it? that was supposed to be connected to this thing. I haven't taken good look at it yet but it seems to be a female connector.

Does any model if this car come with lights in the floor board? I worked at car company and sometimes things get missed but they are usually caught by the dealerships. I would just take it in the next chance you get and ask them.

It's also right by the HVAC so check your heating and cooling.

I will check the wiring diagram for the vehicle when I get a chance.

That's the wire harness to your stowaway 9000 shot of NOS hidden under your passengers seat.

The BRZ Limited has courtesy lights in the doors, any chance this could be an unused connector for that? Or for the lights in the vanity mirrors in the same model? Seems unlikely though given the number of wires that seem to be going into the shrinkrapped sleeve...
