No push button start a good thing?
 

so i have been debating this for a bit and wanted to see what other enthusiasts thought.

after looking at this picture i was thinking if you opted to get the gauge pod in place of the head unit do you guys think it would be possible to put a single din head unit in place of the little cubby. i know the shift lever would be in the way for CD's but i don't know many people who still use CD's anyways. please share your thoughts.

I think the guage pod won't be an "add-on" for the US market I am speaking from exp. I used to own a Hyundai Tiburon and the Korea version had a guage pod and it was not avail. in the US (although all the wires from the harness were taped to the body of the car throughout the interior )

well bush butten looks good.. but to be honest its a waist af space, electrol wires, time and brings more weight to the car. but if you like it thats your prob

well since it will be a JDM thing you know there will be a gabillion knock offs here in the US market.

It looks like there's enough room, but mounting it may be easier said than done.

I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket options, many of which will be even nicer than the oem version.

Yeah or if Subaru is running the wiring harness they are known to leave the wires taped to the body as well (found that on my wife's new Forester) makes "OEM" items easy.

The wires for the guages could be in there under carpet and behind panels ...just have to look.

Really now? The push button start adds weight, only because the Dual Zone HVAC might weigh more than the manual HVAC.

All I wanted was Scion to offer the push start with the manual HVAC and I would be ok with that but it looks like it is only available with the Dual Zone HVAC.

Hey there is still hope that it will be an option or included in the FRS Release 1.0 version.

i feel ya i roll DEFI's myself.

the only thing i've thought is that getting the actual head unit into place is probably going to be the hard part.

If you're concerned about the push button adding weight don't have a doughnut in the morning and it will be like removing the push button :D

well working on a car with a push button casues a lot of problems ask someone in the autobody/mechanics and they'll give there openion on push start at see if they like it :slap:

so i'm guessing people think it's possible ~.~

A push button bezel and wiring probably weigh all of 100 grams. You can fart and drop the curb weight down more.
