Steering wheel accent removal
I've seen a few people request the same thing on here, but they are usually asking for the removal of that part along with the other silver accent pieces within the car. As a result, all of the replies point to other DIY's for the door handles and center console, but the steering wheel is forgotten. So plz, anyone know how to do this, have pics, video? Anything? :iono:
Seems most of the parts just pry off with a little effort, but i dont wont to risk it without knowing if there is at a good part to start from, i.e: starting at the bottom for the door handles...Thanks Guys!!! |

I did this last night, and i only ran into one problem... The write-up says that there are two pins that you need to push to release the steering wheel. One to the left and one to the right. There is actually a third one in the bottom of the steering wheel. It works the exact same way as the other two.
Also: just a side note, the three fuses listed are actually all for the horn, not the airbag. Just be careful and you should be ok. People pound on there horn during road rage and nothing happens so there really isnt much reason to worry, but it never hurts to be safe :happy0180: |
sorry for the large pic...

So no need to unplug the airbag to just remove the trim piece right?

Just adding, if you want to prevent the airbag from exploding, disconnect the battery before doing this.
