For reference, this is the headlight washer system for a 2010 Prius:

Then again, some systems are more simplified (BMW):

But really, only a dealership or someone with access to a parts catalog is going to be able to tell you what is involved

as far as i know it uses water pressure to pull out and runs off the same reservoir for the windshield washer.

found these only task is finding the right colored covers

I wish I had these, they really work well. Salt gets all f'n baked on the headlights.

I can't beleive the stupidity of some people on this board.."If I don't need them nobody else does mentality" yeah it's great to stop on the side of the highways at -20c to wipeout your dirty headlights. I hope you all be trollin'.

dam right!! and its coming from people who don't own a frs/brz/86

If you're "just looking for looks", then just find the cover plate and use 2-sided 3m tape to stick them on...much easier/cheaper.

There's this thing, it's called winter. And it gets a little dirty.

I used to keep a small squeegy and bucket of water to clean the headlights in my garage. Light washers would be so much better.

lol you gotta understand even in winter cars never get that dirty in the lower part of this continent unless you go off roading. most people who live in snow country don't bother driving this rwd car in the winter anyway.

I do, its scary, I like it. On a side note, I think my knuckles are permanently white now... :burnrubber:

I've always thought those bumps were sensors. lol

Cameronghanson 03-09-2013 06:33 PM

eh my BMW has these and they are great when the whole car is dirty, but when you just washed your car or its cleaned and you want to just wipe the windshield, it sprays that shit all over your front bumper too

hey, Sorry for reviving this thread but do you have an idea where to buy just the covers for this washer? i broke mine and fell off somewhere.

wbradley 12-15-2013 10:10 AM

I like the older Volvo and Saab systems that included a washer AND wiper. Looked as Scandinavian as IKEA.

I could see the washer only as being somewhat but barely effective in a frozen environment.

Glad my twin will never see a winter.

I had the same problem, and got a replacement from a UK dealer - RRG Macclesfield,

I needed the RHS cover, and the part number is TSU003-02708

PM me if you need more details.

They are a requirement in europe for HID headlights. A rear wiper is a luxury.

If the OP wants to get em let him do what he wants. Start paying his car payment and then tell him what he can do with his money.
