Rattle at idle when clutch engaged in netural

Hi guys,

I have this pretty loud rattle at idle when the clutch is engaged in neutral.

Here is a video, can you can see when I depress the clutch, the sound will be gone. This was my first manual car and I was wondering if this was normal?

Thanks,

don't hear that on mine.. maybe some of your panels are loose under the car?

Loose clutch assembly? Have someone else step on the clutch while you inspect it. If you can/cant find anything just take it to the dealership and have them take care of it under warranty.

O btw, I have the whileline shifter bushing and perrin trans mount... Maybe they magnified the sound?

I have this exact noise. If i press the clutch, it is gone. Doesn't always do it.

This is fairly common in RWD vehicles with manual transmissions. My Mustang is really noticeable under the same conditions. My FR-S isn't as loud, but your harder bushings may have something to do with that.

its the shafts in the gearbox moving, even though your in nuetral your gearbox input shaft and bearing are still rotating, when you put your foot on the clutch it stops the box from turning, i bet its cold when this is happening yes ?

@shu5892001 Did you ever resolve this? I have this issue too with AC on only and clutch out, doesn't matter hot or cold.

Mine does something similar. Could it be loose clutch springs?
