What was your first car?

I searched and I found no similar thread, so here it is...

Also, I blatantly ripped this off a SF thread!

What was the first car that you could technically say was your's? You don't have to have owned it, but it must have been your daily driver. Pics are much appreciated, even if they are just from Google.

Mine was a 1999 Toyota Avalon, my dad gave it to me after he got tired of it and bought a LS430.

http://joplinautoexchange.com/images...m)-350x263.JPG

It was just like this one, but this isn't mine.

I still have it, it's sitting outside with 240k miles on the clock!!

TheBigBadBanana 12-11-2011 02:55 PM

^My brother in law had one of those. Great car for sure.

Mine was a 1993 Toyota Camry DLX
5 speed manual, power nothing, improvised SRI, and, of course, Walmart hub caps.

Yes, poor him, right? :bonk:

Also, some other kids in my school's first cars are: a 2JZ 240sx, a Yellow 09 Corvette, a Ducatti Multistrada, 370Z, Gen Coupe V6.

sigh. lol.

1986 Corolla GT-S. I still have it, pic from when I got it back in 2004:

(Picture makes it look a bit nicer than it actually was, it had rust -- which I've spent 7 years fixing, it's not done yet. I don't drive it right now :()

Sounds silly but I played Pro gaming for 6 years and walked off with total ~$150k in prize money.

I gave 100k to parents for the house and used 50k to buy the Audi. Then realized I should've saved it for school. So my dumb butt sold the audi for 38k and gave a small sum to help my parents out and put some in savings (for a new car).

So after all the help they got from me they bought me the Yaris so I could just commute with it.

Thats how my story went. lol

150k!!?!?!?!!! :confused0068:

Are we talking Starcraft here? Or perhaps some Quake?

( Those are my two examples because they are the only two games I ever really played....)

Guildwars.
Starcraft (didn't make it very far lol)
Lineage 2.

People call me a nerd/geek/loser but whatever. I made bank playing fking video games. LOL

Prize pools in recent tournaments are insanely high though. The DoTa world tournament had a MILLION DOLLARS yes a fking MILLION DOLLARS grand prize. Your team is comprised of 5 people so divide 1m by 5. $250k per person un-taxable.

Single Starcraft 2 tournament winner gets an easy $168k a month (since tournaments are held once a month).

Easy breakdown?

Dota Tourny:
1st place: 1Million
2nd place: 500k
3rd: 200k
4th: 100k
5th-8th: 18k

Starcraft 2 tournaments (talking specifically about the ones in Korea)
Monthly Tournaments
1st: 168k
2nd: 30k
3rd: 12k
4th-8th: 1k
Yearly Tournaments:
1st: 500k
2nd: ???
3rd: ???

Didn't really keep up with the prize pool since other tournaments were running around the same time.

Holy shit!!! That's some serious money...

I'm sure even if I wanted to, I couldn't beat a single online match of Starcraft. I'd probably get my ass handed to me by a infant Korean child... They come out of the womb knowing how to harvest vespene gas...

That's crazy!!! If I had won that much I would have gone with a nice new Mustang or revive an old Barracudda for my dad.

My very first car I got was a 96 Pontiac Grand Prix by my parents (pic is exactly the same).
The first car I ever bought was an 02 Honda Accord EX-V6 in HS (pic is about the same as mine). Since I went to a private school just about everyone was driving a BMW, Mercedes, or a Caddillac.

1981 Ford Mustang Hatchback with a straight 6 and automatic. The speedometer topped at 85 and the car could barely hit it. It was a beater but it started every day and took a beating from a 16 year old idiot.
