Wiper blade spoiler...thingies.
I've been doing a bunch of driving on highways where the daytime speeds of traffic are around 75-80mph, averaging about 65-70 usually. I find that over 60 and my wipers become somewhat ineffective, usually lifting off a bit and leaving streaks and spots, which then dissipate in 5-10s. Not a huge deal, but something I'd like to get rid of if possible. Below 60 and my wipers work great, so I'm pretty sure it's a speed related issue.
Im thinking about ordering a set of PIAA Super Sporza wiper blades: http://www.tirerack.com/images/acces...ack_detail.jpg I'm hoping these might help a bit for the freeway drives, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this specific blade, or if anyone could recommend any alternatives? |
PIAA Super Silicones are THE best wiper out there. Wash windshield, wipe down with their prep pack (which is just 99% iso) then transfer a layer of silicone from the wipers to the windshield by running them dry for 5 minutes.
Great wipers, had them on my WRX. That particular model has the aerodynamic fin to prevent lift at speed which I DID NOT have, but heard was effective from people who did have it. Beyond that, you don't actually need to replace the wiper arms themselves, only the rubber inserts. |
Thanks for the reply. I'm sold!
