2013 Lincoln MKZ

I watched the Superbowl ad and can't help but notice this car. Amazing commercial, and the car looks promising. Seems like Lincoln's heading in the right direction. What do you guys think?

Needs more Continental and less pre-WWII British nomenclature.

i think its cool that you can buy a hybrid at the same base price. the problem is that its like 35k for a 2.0l luxury car. also ugly imo

I thought at first, when I saw this car on paper, it showed some promise. Just as much promise on how Ford is making better strides for better cars as well. I wouldn't say the exterior of the MKZ is flashy or edgy, which is good in my opinion. since its suppose to be fall in the category of luxuriant. When I did get the chance to check out the MKZ, I found that the features in the car are what I would have expected in any other luxury car, but I was thrown off when there was no shifter. I had forgot about how they removed it and replaced that space for more middle console/seating comfort. So to engage from park to drive or reverse it all came down to a simple buttons near the left side of the middle dash. I haven't driven it yet, but I get the feeling if I could buy one of these, I wouldn't regret it for its sole purpose of driving easy.

LOL. I reminds me of a '63 Dodge city car I drove half a century ago. On a positive note, I will never want an American made luxury car but if I was forced to I probably would go with the Lincoln.

Wow, I never knew that a 63' Dodge would have that. :w00t:

And I still prefer Cadillac, but Lincoln is not as bad or I should say is that they're going in the right direction, imo.

Hah, blast from the past! This was my very first car, Dodge Polara with a push-button transmission. It was on the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. The "park" was a slide lever underneath the buttons.

I paid $300 for the car, and it was a tank! Drove it for 18 months, and sold it for $400.

Loved it. (Not mine below, but it looked exactly like this)

Old man car. Am I still on the FRS/BRZ forum? lol

The target market for the Twins would want nothing to do with a 4dr Lincoln.

I think it's neat, but if I were in the market for something like that I'd surely end up in an ATS instead. Hopefully this will help to revive the brand though.

I still think it's a hideous car. They were working on some Mustang platformed Lincoln that looked very boxy/muscle style, but I believe it never went into production because they were afraid it would pull from Mustang sales.

I still think that grill is too hideous to put on any car.

I agree. I think it would look better with a more retro grill, but that thing just looks like a blue whale sucking up plankton.

People will buy it. no people that I know, but I'm sure there are some out there that plan on it.

Luxury cars don't make it onto my radar, really. Typically a car over 3,100lbs wont make it onto my radar. [Not to imply that my 'radar' is some bastion of exclusivity.]
