True, but don't forget even though its pretty much a toyota, the engine is a Subaru regardless.

Has there ever been a consensus? I don't want to start a flame war, but from my understanding it's a Subaru at the core, but the cosmetic and design work is Toyota.

lol don't worry you won't start a flame war. The war has been started in the FRS section under the similar thread. Apparently there are a few really sensitive FRS owners who gets angry hearing any negative things about the FRS.

Because of the extra goodies for a not starkly great difference in price.

Keyless entry and start
Heated Seats
Navi Unit (its not the best but its better than the units i've had experience with when i fiddle with my folk's lexus units)
hvac
hid headlamps

Plus I do actually like the subie front more than the frs front... Just all personal preference :).

I'm a 32 year old professional and couldn't see myself driving a Scion.

Are you 100% they are different compared to the FRS?

At the end of the day, if you're happy with your choice, what other people say won't bother you. I've had a couple of Mustang owners and WAY too many 370z owners pull up next to me and tell me I should have gotten their car because it has more powahhhh. Only answer is I'm glad you're happy with your car.

Same exact reason why I picked the brz!

Pascal_TTH 02-05-2013 04:20 PM

There is no FR-S in my country but Toyota GT86.

I choose BRZ because :
- front style (day light)
- don't like GT86 side logo
- Subaru brand
- with Alcantara & leather BRZ is cheaper than GT86
- exclusive (GT86 is much more common)
- Subaru gives me a higher discount
- Subaru offers a 0% credit for 15 K €
- Toyota dealer is farer than Subaru one

 So BRZ  and everything leads me to her !

jduffy 02-05-2013 05:39 PM

The BRZ is just way better looking from behind, particularly without the wing.

Not sure if you're trolling or serious...

The car was to be a DD, so the extra options were nice to have. It also didn't hurt that, in person, I think the BRZ nose looks better than the FR-S.

Jaylyons1 02-05-2013 08:51 PM

- Non-rice front end
- Not-so-cheap interior materials
- HID's and Nav stock, woot.
- Cheaper insurance. FR-S would have actually ran me a little more factoring in the insurance cost.
- It's a Subaru and I've had 7 now. I will not own a Scion.
