Speed chime removal or adjustment - UAE

Guys,

Asked this question in the general 86 section but thought I would ask here as well since we are all in the same boat. My 86 has the Standard chime at 120km/h that I would like to removel completely or atleast change to 140km/h. I do a couple of runs to Abu Dhabi and the chime is dringing me nuts.

Anyone know how???

on other sections they said it can only be done through techstream. Its a software used by dealers.

In process. I am waiting to hear back from Toyota. The CR manager has referred this to their HO to advise. I went to pick up my car this afternoon from them and was informed they will call me tomorrow to tell me what they can do. Might even go there again tomorrow since it seems Toyota is incapable of installing window tint. 4 attempts and still bubbles. I am not amused. Car was there for 3 days this time.

We get this at 120kph like the Trueno in Initial D. All cars in UAE is required to have some sort of indicator when it reaches 120kph.

I agree the chime is a pain in the backside. I assume if you go past the speed limit it stops ringing ?
On another note, I find the horn quite silly on the BRZ. I wonder if something can be done about it. As I use mine a lot in Dubai, I wish it was a bit more manly. It sounds like the rental Yaris I'm driving at the moment, useless horn that everyone ignores LOL.

Feedback from Toyota is that nothing can be done. They cannot change it or shift the limit. They did however offer to find the buzzer and make it quieter on condition that I sign a waiver keeping them not liable. Not really what I was looking for so will take a couple of days and then decide.

On a separate note I have taken the servicing costs up with them so if anyone would like more info on this let me know.

The servicing cost would be helpful to the UAE members. Im interested.
