WRB Subaru BRZ Correction and Opti-Guard - TLC Auto Detail

Hey everyone. Got another BRZ to work on today. This one is my personal favorite color, World Rally Blue. It was booked for a New car Prep, one step correction, Opti Guard, and to have the rear emblems removed.

As usual I startedby cleaning the wheels, tires, and wheel wells. Wheels were cleaned with Iron X while the tires and wells were cleaned with Optimum Power Clean. The wheels were OG'd and the tires and wells were dressed with HGyper Dressing.

Next the exterior was foamed with Meguiars Hyperwash and some APC. While it dwelled I used a RG brush to agitate the emblems, body seams, and trim.

Next the vehicle was washed with Hyperwash, clayed with Ricardo Clay, then Iron X was applied to remove any left over iron particles. It was then dried with the Masterblaster. Before I started on the correction I wanted to get the emblems removed. Floss was used to remove the emblems themselves, and the left over adhesive was removed, then the paint was buffed along with the rest of the vehicle.

Now that they paint was stripped we could see the actual condition. Honestly, it was better than most, even for a new car. The swirls were very fine, and the tons of flake in the paint hid what swirls were there very well. Here are a couple pictures that I was able to capture. Again, the swirls were not bad at all.

I knew this paint would not need to be compounded, so after some testing I settled with Menzerna Powerfinish on a Tangerine HT pad with the Meguiars G110. Here is how the paint turned out.

To prep the paint for Opti guard I rewashed the vehicle with Optimum Power clean, and then blew it dry with the Masterblaster. I then applied Opti guard panel by panel, and then to the trim and wheels. Here is how it turned out.

Finally the glass was cleaned with Meguiars Glass Cleaner, the exhaust tips polished with Collinite Metal Wax, and the engine bay was dressed with Sonus Trim and Motor Kote.

Like I mentioned before, this is one of my all time favorite colors, so I had a great time working on this vehicle. I, and the customer, were very happy with how it all turned out. Thanks for taking the time to read my thread, and I look forward to your feedback!
