Question about the nomenclature..
I had a question I know the 86 designation comes from the famed AE-86. But I see some people call it the 086 (adding an 0 in front) or sometimes 086a (adding an a after the 86).
Does anyone know what the 0 and a mean and why some people use those terms and some dont? Thanks! |
It's just a unique chassis code. They've been using it for the Subie version too. FT-86 is particualr to Toyota, meaning "Future Toyota - 86"

I wonder what names both companies will give the cars. More interested in what Toyota names it.

I think they should just name it the FT86 (even if the FT stands for future toyota), people are going to be used to it by then and I like the "86" reference. |

I say Sprinter. :p

They should name it something completely new. AE Coupe would probably be cool. |

It'll probably be a "Celica" or get a brand new name. Hell, it might even wind up being a Scion (**retch, vomit, choke**)
