Smoke?

So this morning I drive at a pretty quick pace to work. It's about a 25 minute ride on a fwy. I was driving right around 70 - 75mph. When I get off the fwy I notice some smoke coming from the front passenger side of the hood. Just some faint smoke, but no smell from what I could tell in the cabin. After I get to my parking lot I open the hood and check to see what might be causing it. I don't spot anything funny, but do see very faint smoke and smell a tiny bit of smoke. What could it have been? Any ideas?

I haven't seen any smoke but I do sometimes smell burning oil when I come to a stop or back into a spot. I took it to the dealership and there were no leaks but they did find the previous dealership had overfilled the oil. Even after an oil change there is still some oil smell when coming to a stop or going into reverse.

Funny thing is I'm at around 4,200 miles and did an oil change like 2,200 miles ago. And have never had this happen. At first, I though I might have caught a plastic bag or something and it had melted on something. It's got me stumped. All the oils/lubricants from the factory should have burnt off long ago.

I do enjoy driving this car, but with all the little issues this thing has it may be my first and last Subaru.

Don't mess around with smoke. Bring that thing in for service.

I have 16,000 on mine and it didn't start until after the 15,000 mile service (which included an oil change).

AT. And from the looks the smoke was eminating from the passenger side of the car.

Could be a puddle of water that splashed down onto something hot and is evaporating.

Thought of that, but there was definitely a smell of plastic/oil/something burning.

I smell this too. I have done two oil changes, both myself (with factory oil and filter). I don't appear to be losing oil anywhere, dipstick is rock solid. I have tried to pinpoint the source of the smell a number of times and I simply cannot. :iono:

I've never noticed any smoke, but I do notice the burning plastic smell every now and then after shutting the car off.

My BRZ is about a two weeks old and I currently have about 450 miles on the car...I also have gotten the hint of plastic burn smell a couple times this week. I have recently installed a cold air injen intake and an invidia full exhaust (front pipe and cat back)...I haven't taken the car over 4k RPMs....I had a feeling it could have been from installing these parts but I guess other people have experienced the same issue....I hope it just goes away and its not an issue.
