Put those tax returns to some good use! Get that FRS tuned. My car will be tuned Feb 26th.

Info:
PRE just bought the new tuning software for our cars. It's called BRZedit. It's basically open source for our cars! No license on our end required or cable. We just pay one flat price to PRE and they tune our cars. Actual software name will be put up Thur after 10PM.

How I know PRE?:
I first got in contact with PRE two years ago after my 2002 WRX had a timing belt snap. My dad bought my WRX wagon off me and I went and purchased a 2011 STi. The wagon was already modified but we took all the old mods off and started new...... These guys do amazing work. My dad went mid life crisis crazy and bought a $12k Cosworth long block and various other mods for the car. I think in total there is over $40k+ in mods under the hood of that car including a full 2006 STi drivetrain swap and the car isn't close to being finished yet.... Mod wise.... Runs like a camp and throws you hard in the seat...... Here is the public facebook photo album of some of the pictures. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...5587588&type=3 The car makes 400WHP easy on 92 pump gas @around 20psi. Later we will be installing a meth kit and going for 500WHP for a track set up. I can't stress how much this shop knows what they are doing. they tuned my 2011 sti that had a base line pull of 260ish whp and 280ish WTQ and after a invidia downpipe w/ nameless performance catback and AEM cai it produced 310WHP and 370WTQ on a 76 degree day..... Would of made more power on a colder day! Ran like a dream! Never had a problem with our Bobby tunes and I will always bring them my business! Awesome shop to work with and I want to share this with you guys! I've been hounding them to get this going for us. I am no way working for PRE or anything. I'm just a customer. And I pay full price! (I wish I got a discount!)

Tuning process: (How it usually works)
Bobby will take your car and put it on the dyno. Strap it down. Then hook everything up. He will then do a base pull to get a data read out. Basically see what your ECU is doing. AFR levels, Timing, Tuning stuff. Then he will adjust all the various things he can and start doing pulls until he finds what he is looking for in the brain of our cars. This isn't a reflash and you drive away w.o actual real time adjustments made on a dyno. This is an actual dyno tune. Most tunes take 5-30 pulls on the dyno to get perfect. But as soon as you get in your car and drive away you will be like :happyanim: :burnrubber:

Keep in mind:
$300 bucks in FEB or $600 bucks after FEB when the special ends. No license fee or cable fee. Just a flat rate to the shop!

Also:
They can do part installs on your car, custom alignments, and maintenance.
I had PRE do full redline fluid swap in my car, install my light weight crank pulley and do an alignment on my FRS.

Take some time to scroll through all their stuff and give them a call if you want to ask about the tuning process. Other then that all I have to say is who's on board?! :happy0180:

I kinda want to see what kind of gains I can expect on the car before I commit!

Sounds like Nick will be the guinea pig so sign up on the list and delay after him to make sure it's what you want.

I like the sound of that.

edit- is this one of those things where I can sign up to be on the list and get the same price like 2 or 3 months down the road?

NickFRS 01-31-2013 10:56 PM

Ahaha it will be like any other shop. Plus gains depend on how aggressive the car is tuned and what parts you have on your car. There will be an increase. If you have mods prob 15-25HP. There are things a tuner can do to your car that can bring out more power but be more strain on the engine. Bobby likes to tune cars so they don't blow up because he knows we beat the piss out of our cars. Even though you see people with a "tuned frs" thats just a base map flash on their car. It's not made spec for the mods on their car.

On that note bobby can effectively get your AFR right timing right and all that good stuff on the Dyno.

When the twins first came out a stock car they were pulling 20HP out of the car with a tune, Then stack on performance mods. Reports of 200WHP with E85 and intake exhaust and headers

BRZPDX 01-31-2013 11:04 PM

I'm deff interested. Need to get my bolt on parts first, so probably thinking mid April

wrohdejr 01-31-2013 11:33 PM

lol i was in there today and they asked me if wanted a tune for $400 for the first one and then $200 for each tune after that. I told them i would have to wait until i get my exhaust in a month or so.

stockysnail 01-31-2013 11:35 PM

I was there today as well but a grumpy guy helped me quote out my bushing install and didn't say a word about anything except what I asked.

wrohdejr 01-31-2013 11:39 PM

Wow i got a tour of the shop and got to see there dyno room and look at there install bay. I guess i got there at the right time i think it was the owner that helped me.

I'm waiting for the AP supercharger kit to be ready... and have connections at PSI already so I will get my tune there. Don't have any good things to say about my experience with the sales staff at PRE.

It honestly depends who you talk to. I'm not a fan of 2 of their employees. Well one now. =]

If your game say that you want a tune or something so I can add you to the list.

Jason = Owner
Bobby = Tuner
Bob = Mechanic
Erich = Internet/Sales/Mechanic

Then there are other employees. ^ I only associate myself with these employees. If you call or go in ask for one of them. Also Jason would be the one to talk to about $$$ of tune for the FRS and Bobby would be the one to talk to about how the tuning process works. I'm turning in the list to them on monday. So PM me your name n number and say me if you want a tune. Some of you guys say yes maybe but your screen name doesn't help this ahaha.

Tunes are 50% off in Feb full price after that.

BRZPDX 02-01-2013 04:06 AM

Yea I wasn't too crazy about their service, but again I expect an un professional style from a tuner shop, and perhaps that is attractive for the tuner crowd.

Had to reschedule my alignment since I waited there for 2 hours, and noticed my car was still in the lot, untouched. I think it is pretty typical, and having low expectations with tuner shops is the attitude I go in to mitigate frustrations.
