Toyota/Scion Dealer Whitelist (positive experiences, truthful dealings)
I started a Subaru dealership whitelist thread last Spring (since there was already a blacklist thread). It's seen some recent activity, including an FRS report, so I added this thread.
Code:
STATE TOWN DEALER SALES/SERVICE |
TX - Round Rock - Round Rock Toyota - Both
Sales: Jim Service: N/A Story: I had a very positive experience at Round Rock Toyota in Round Rock, Texas. I worked with a saleperson named Jim who first contacted me online when I inquired about the deposit. He wasn't pushy at all, very honest about everything and explained how difficult it is for these cars to come in. I put my deposit in and 2 weeks later, they were able to snag an Ultramarine FR-S from the shipment dock in California. I was extremely lucky. He was upfront about the BeSpoke system and didn't know much about it. We went over all of the options, asked if I had any questions, and recommended I become a member on this site to learn a lot about the car. |
OH - C&C Scion
Sales: Craig Lupardis Service: N/A Story: I had a great time with this salesman and really with the whole dealership. I went to the show room and they only had one gray automatic, freshly detailed and sitting on the showroom floor. I was there for an oil change in my Tacoma. I told them it'd be fun to drive it... Keep in mind, it was drizzling out, and kind of gross. They threw open the doors on the showroom and let me drive it right out! It was a blast. The salesman also criticized my choice of test drive road and actually gave me turn-by-turn directions to an awesome twisty back road, and had nothing to say about me having some real fun with the car. Finally, when I committed to buying they gave me a reasonable price on the trade in, excellent financing, $1k off for college discount, and I only spent 15 minutes in the finance office. No hidden nonsense, nothing shady at all. And when my car arrived it had 5 miles on it, just like the day I picked it up, so they didn't even hoon it! I would go back again in a second if I had another car to buy. |
I got tired of waiting for an FR-S herein Raleigh, NC,so went online, and found exactly what I was looking for at Shelor Motors in Christiansburg Virginia. We did the deal over the phone, and online, and they delivered the car to me so they could make the sale by the end of the month, for no charge. Can't say enough about their professionalism and I would do more business with them if I were closer to them. Check them out!

Yuba City Scion.
Sales: Sue Vang and Kitt Kinne Great sales experience although no one knew about the 1st 86 program and knew very little about the car (Scion's fault). Not pushy and as excited about the car as I was. Car was sold for MSRP but with a few add ons I didn't want (rear bumper appliqué added at the port). Great sales follow up. Salesman Sue Vang was very knowledgable about the car at pickup. Service. Good experience for fuel pump replacement and ECM upgrade but had to push for 7.5 month service as I only had 4,000 miles. |
Sun Toyota, Holiday FL. Located north of Tampa FL.
Arranged everything through email and phone calls with their internet sales Person Michelle Landi, got me a price In writing and took my deposit 2 weeks later I picked up my FR-S on August 31st at MSRP no dealer fee full tank of gas and they didn't pressure me to buy any add ons. I did all the paperwork with a salesman named George Papios he was good as well. Anyway if you're in the Tampa/Orlando area check out Sun. |
NE - Performance Toyota/Scion in Lincoln - Robert Cordova
Ordered over the phone while the car was on the boat (back in June). Absolutely no problems, did whatever I wanted and nothing I didn't want. Everything was ready when I got there. I was in and out in about 45 minutes with the best car I've ever had. |
List updated and FRS reports from other thread moved here. Please remember to post using the specified format (saves me the trouble of googling for towns and/or makes it easier for me to copy/paste).

IL - Crystal Lake --- Pauly Toyota ------- both
Sales: did a fantastic job wrestling with the Toyota/Scion allocation system. Service: so far I've only had the first oil change on the FR-S, but I've never hesitated taking our other Toyotas there (they're honest and efficient). |
IL - Chicago - Grossinger City Toyota/Scion - Both

Minnesota - Inver Grove Scion
http://www.invergrovescion.com/index.htm Ordered the car before it was released. Great purchase experience, very helpful salesman. The salesman would not let the mechanics drive the car before I took delivery, so I took delivery before any test drives, etc. |
CT - Wallingford - Toyota and Scion of Wallingford - Sales and Service
Dealer Website: http://www.wow-toyota.com/index.htm Dealerrater: http://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/To...-review-18993/ Very honest. Nothing but excellent reviews on dealerrater.com Family's purchased nearly 10 cars from them over the last several years. Worked to get me an even better deal than expected once in the financing office rather than trying to gouge me. Service has been, for the most part, stellar for nearly the last 10 years. Slight hiccup recently as far as my experiences with service go (started a thread about it back in November) but I can't let that detract from the overwhelmingly positive experiences overall. Write-up on my buying experience can be found in detail in my car journal located in my sig. |
TX - San Antonio - North Park Toyota - Both
Sales: JC Service: Forgot the dude's name... Story: Phenomenal experience. Went from sliding into the dealership because I saw them unloading my car from the truck into the showroom, to driving out of the dealership with my new FR-S in 1.5-hours flat (and that was WITH a trade-in being taken care of) when I had no idea I'd even be buying a car until I saw it. Turns out my salesman JC races circle-track up at ThunderHill with one of my best friends. But he was really good, no pressure, no bullshitting, didn't have to haggle, gave me a GREAT deal on my trade in, and made all the paperwork fly by. I sent my cousin up to buy a Tundra from him the next day, and he took care of her (gave it to her under msrp, and a great deal on her trade in). Get in touch with me, and I'll let him know your coming to take extra care of ya! And on the service side, I'm really pleased with them over Universal Toyota's service (which wasn't bad, but their lead mechanic Jason [who was an awesome dude, I really liked him] didn't have the experience with the FR-S to be able to diagnose the rattling sound I was complaining about). I went to North Park Toyota to get my new plates on Thursday, and they installed the rear one for me (no grief about not wanting the front installed), and put my car up on a lift right away with no wait when I asked about the metallic heat-shield sounding rattle I had in the low-RPM range. The staff was super nice, the waiting room really comfortable with free water and pop-corn and awesome cow-hide plush rocking chairs. The mechanic had me come out and showed me exactly what was causing the noise without me even asking (a big plus in my book), and took care of the problem (bolts on the black "paper" underbody piece were too long, and could be seen visibly moving, so he installed some nylon washers and crush washers to completely eliminate the sound) filled my washer fluid, vacuumed my interior, and washed my car (asking me first), all for free. In and out in under 30 minutes. Super pleased! |
IN-Elkhart- Heart City Toyota Scion
Sales:Tom Service: Andy In a nutshell this is a no bullshit dealership. They did everthing I asked them to do. You can't ask for more. |
